California Vacations

Map of North America

The Golden State is a welcoming place where diversity is its motto. Enjoy the many sites and sounds that can quite honestly be overwhelming for first time visitors. Considering so many call this state home, Hollywood elite included, it’s no wonder why it attracts guests from all over the world.

Not sure how you want to spend your time? California has plenty of options for you to consider. You might be surprised to think of packing your ski boots if you’re heading to California but because of its diverse landscape you’ll find some pretty fantastic ski locations here. In fact, it’s not uncommon for the resorts to get up to 400 inches of snow per season. Prefer the beaches? California has got you covered here as well. Choose from white sandy beaches ideal for setting down a towel and soaking up the rays or rugged coastlines where the surfers go for a challenge. Relax at a world-class spa or putt in (get it?) a round or two of golf on the scenic courses. And if there’s a shopper traveling with you, make your way to San Francisco’s Union Square. It’s one the top four shopping areas in the nation.

California is a great state to rent a car and cruise along the highways. The famous 59 Mile Scenic Drive near San Diego is beautiful and it has great places to stop and do a little sightseeing. Or, you could drive along Highway 49 and see Sacramento’s Gold Rush days as you tour the 300-mile stretch and the historic mining locations.

Make your way to Disneyland if you’re looking for some fun. It’s a fantastic place for us big kids too, especially since Disney is one of the few places in the world where age seems to be irrelevant. As you enter through the gates and approach Main Street U.S.A. you’re transported into a world where fun is the only task of the day.

California is known for putting a culinary twist on old favorites. Choose from local dishes or international cuisine, a waterfront restaurant or a cool place up on the hills. Whatever you decide on, you’ll be pleased with the selection. After a delicious meal you could enjoy a concert or catch a show. In Los Angels alone there are over 2,000 theaters, galleries and museums for you to explore, so the options are endless.
