Although Casper is one of the largest cities in Wyoming it continues to hold onto its traditions and history. The wide-open spaces are filled with fantastic scenery that’s breathtaking anytime of year.
The Wild West is alive and well in Casper. Take part in a Cattle Drive, go for a wagon ride or simply enjoy the trails. This city is also well known for its rodeos. Hosting the College National Finals and the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo, you’ll be treated to some of the best performances and biggest rodeos out there. Even if you’re skiing on Casper Mountain during the winter, don’t be too surprised to find a few cowboys skiing along side you. On a side note, Casper Mountain is also a great place to do some snowmobiling. If you enjoy the great outdoors head to the North Platte River, which is a wonderful place to do some fly-fishing and rafting. There are also many fantastic parks in the area that are fantastic for bird watching.
The city of Casper is filled with great museums and galleries as well as fantastic restaurants. The portions here seem to be pretty big but with all that fresh air and activity you’ll have worked up a huge appetite.
