Located on the Isthmus, in the heart of the downtown area, the Edgewater Hotel is a long-standing and popular Madison tradition. Overlooking Lake Mendota this older, classic hotel sits just blocks from the State Capitol Building and within walking distance of the University of Wisconsin campus, Overture Hall, and numerous restaurants, museums, and shopping. The Edgewater’s elegant Admiralty Room restaurant, the Cove Lounge with live music, and The Pier (seasonal outdoor seating at lake’s edge) are dining options the locals regularly frequent. The hotel offers fun “Getaway” packages with extra amenities like champagne with the “Sweetheart’s Escape.”

The Edgewater is an older, classic, but popular hotel in the heart of downtown Madison. It’s nearness to the university’s fraternities and student housing means that the neighborhood can get noisy at time, particularly during football weekends. Edgewater Hotel Accommodations

The Edgewater offers a range of classic accommodations from single and double lake-view rooms to two-bedroom suites. The single rooms have either queen or king size beds. Selective suites are available with kitchen facilities. Sleep in comfort between triple sheet bed linens.

Amenities offered

Both business and leisure travelers will welcome the Edgewater’s nightly turn-down service with bottled spring water, towel refresh, and ice refill and the option of room service. A fitness center is available for guests' use. Business travelers especially will appreciate the private voicemail messaging and high speed internet access. A Business Center with computer, internet, printer and outgoing guest fax machine is also available. The hotel’s limousine service makes getting to and from the airport a breeze. And for those driving, the free indoor parking is a definite plus.

From Dane County Regional Airport’s International Lane, turn left onto Packers Ave. (Hwy. 113). Follow Packers Ave. 2 miles until it merges onto E. Johnson St., which in turns merges (a half mile later) onto E. Gorham St. Follow E. Gorham St. about a mile and half into the downtown area to Wisconsin Ave. Turn right onto Wisconsin Ave. which ends at Langdon St. The hotel is on the corner of Wisconsin and Langdon. From I 90/94, use Exit 135 onto E. Washington Ave. (Hwy. 151). Follow E. Washington into the city about 3½ miles to Baldwin St. Turn right onto Baldwin, go 3 blocks, turn left onto E. Gorham St. Follow E. Gorham St. about a mile to Wisconsin Ave. Turn right onto Wisconsin Ave. which ends at Langdon St. The hotel is on the corner of Wisconsin and Langdon.
