The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. The artwork in the common space was gorgeous. The room layout was great. The location was convenient.

It was an older hotel that the owners had renovated in a artistically stylish manner.

It was somewhat reminiscent of what I would term a "faded glory".

The theme of this hotel is A Work or Art, which means they have rotating and permanent pieces of art on display in their public areas. As a Kimpton hotel, the promise is that each hotel will tell its own story - this hotel's story is the Art of Living. The Library bistro is a decorated like a 1940s supper club with high back booths and dramatic lighting, ultra stylish, and is open for breakfast, brunch and lunch only and is available for events in the evenings. Bookstore bar is cozy (30 people tops) with full dinner menu. Pike Place Market is only four blocks away.
