About the Alexis Hotel - A Kimpton Hotel

The theme of this hotel is “A Work or Art”, which means they have rotating and permanent pieces of art on display in their public areas. As a Kimpton hotel, the promise is that each hotel will tell its own story - this hotel's story is the “Art of Living”. The Library bistro is a decorated like a 1940’s supper club with high back booths and dramatic lighting, ultra stylish, and is open for breakfast, brunch and lunch only and is available for events in the evenings. Bookstore bar is cozy (30 people tops) with full dinner menu. Pike Place Market is only four blocks away.

Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?

The location is good if you are here to be close to tourist attractions or for business reasons. There is not really a dinner restaurant in the hotel. There is the 'Bookstore Bar', which has a full menu but it is quite small. You can find outstanding restaurants within a block or two including McCormick & Schmicks, Metropolitan Grill and Boka Kitchen across the street. But walking to these may be an issue after dark on 1st Avenue for some folks or a woman walking by herself. The building (which was more than one section) itself is over 100 years old and guestrooms are being worked on. Make sure construction is complete before you book and check reviews.
