Customer Reviews for Grand Hyatt Washington

Very nice hotel! - posted on 01/20/2006

The staff at the Grand Hyatt was wonderful! They were very friendly and attentive to my needs as a visitor to Washington, DC. The one negative I would have is that the hotel is quite pricey even with the amenities provided. I would most definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who is visiting DC who wants to stay in a very nice hotel. Food service during our functions was very well coordinated and pleasing to the eye and taste buds. Overall, a very good experience!

Perfect President's Day Weekend - posted on 05/31/2007

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the long President's Day weekend in February. From the easy Metro access for arrival and departure to the fact that Ford's theatre and lots of wonderful restaurants are within walking distance, this hotel is great find and a super bargain. Only problem was with the shower - no water pressure. They fixed it within a few hours, but was annoying when getting ready for dinner.

This hotel charges extra for everything. - posted on 04/19/2007

On a weekend it seemed like everything was shut down. The business center charged by the minute to use their computers on a Sunday. Indoor pool was freezing and closed at 6 p.m. and kids were very disappointed.

Nice Hotel - posted on 04/10/2007

We were there for family holiday. 3 Rooms. Check in was weak, got wrong rooms, but corrected it immediately. Great for sightseeing. Lots within walking distance. Rooms clean and beds were very comfortable. Valet parking $26 vs $20 for parking deck, but at the deck you pay each time you move it. Valet is daily charge no matter how many times you come and go. Pool is too small for such a big hotel and closes too early for kids. Bring snacks and drinks. Vending is high. Deli on site is good and fair prices. We would stay there again.

Hot Shower - posted on 03/12/2007

I was unable to get a hot shower in the morning - luke warm at best. Otherwise, the hotel was great. I especially like the in-room control over the heating and cooling (and fan).

This hotel was a fabulous find! Great location for D.C. sightseeing. Metro stop is below the hotel you don't even have to go outside. The service is great. The room was spotless and luxurious. The breakfast buffet was amazing! and included fresh fruit, omlet and waffle stations.

Grand Hyatt was a Great Pick! - posted on 11/08/2006

The king bed was comfortable and the massaging shower head was amazing. The pillows were feather so you might want to bring your own. Numerous restaurants and a Starbuck in the lobby along with access to the metro. Clean and beautiful. The only complaint was the $20/day parking and the $2 Cokes in the vending machine.

LOVELY TIME IN DC - posted on 08/14/2006

My family went to DC for our vacation and had a great time! We left the hotel and walked around. We enjoyed China Town and even found a bowling alley and movie theater in walking distance. The hotel itself was beautiful and the staff very pleasant. We plan to return!

Poor choice - posted on 08/09/2006

I stayed here because of the strong reviews.Something changed. Dining was horrendous. We did not have one good meal. The pub is disgusting. Room service can't get their act together. Even the concerige recommended that we eat elsewhere. After a long day of sightseeing we were looking for a fast, decent meal. Not to be found here. There was a 20-minute wait at Starbucks at 2PM! The rooms are comfortable and clean. The neighborhood doesn't offer much and is deserted at night. Stay elsewhere with children.

disappointed - posted on 07/18/2006

the lobby is very impressive & the metro underneath is very convenient. But we were diasppointed overall for the price we paid for this hotel. The room was average beds comfy but there was a blood spot on the comforter & I asked for it to be replaced & for 3 days it was never done. The guy who delivered extre shampoo & towels seem annoyed we called & not just wait till housekeeping came around.Pool is very small & always crowded my sons were very disappointed. Fee to use gym was required .Starbucks was best for breakfast.Won't stay there again

great hotel - posted on 07/10/2006

We stayed here three nights. The rooms were very clean and quiet, the beds very comfortable, and the service was good. There is a metro stop right under the hotel which is very convenient, or you can walk to most of the attractions. The breakfast buffet was adequate, though the kids were disappointed that there weren't any pancakes. The only thing I did not like about this hotel was the pool. It was indoor, extremely small and therefore very crowded. For a hotel that size, they really should have a better pool.

Grand Hyatt, Washington DC - posted on 05/18/2006

We were very unimpressed to arrive and find our room was not reserved. No apology proffered, no compensation offered. We were offered an uncomfortable roll-out. It took 3 phone calls to get clean bedding for it. Will not be staying there again.

Great Hotel! - posted on 04/22/2006

Our family stayed over Easter weekend and the staff was wonderful. Don't overlook the hotel deli next to Starbucks for an inexpensive breakfast! The Metro below the Hotel was so convenient! My son left his portable DVD player in the room after check-out and they mailed it to us! Will definitely be back to this Hyatt!

Family Vacation - posted on 02/25/2006

My husband and I brought our kids here for Easter weekend and the hotel was much more than we expected. It's in the heart of everything and the metro depot underneath the hotel is a definite plus!! Thanks for everything and see you soon!

Great room and location - posted on 01/04/2006

The king size bedroom was excellent, the decor seems very new, fresh, and modern. The access to the metro literally right under the hotel was very convenient. Also, the general appearance of the hotel was great. Only improvement could be the concierge, he did seem to be very helpful or even knowledgable of the area. I would most definitely return to this hotel whenever I'm in Washington!

Wonderful Experience - posted on 06/12/2005

Rooms were very comfortable. The location is the best thing. The Metro can be accessed right on their grounds. You don't even have to go outside! Ford's Theater, where Lincoln was shot, is a 5 minute walk down 10th street. Every tour (Old Town Trolley, Gray Line, etc) picks you up right at the Hotel. It's a 15 minute walk to the National Mall. The people were very friendly, competent, and helpful. There's a lot to like about this Hotel, and I would definately go back there!

Great Property - posted on 10/07/2004

This property was great! Everything was very clean, staff was great! The metro ran through the property, making it very easy to get around. The Red Line Trolley also makes this one of their stops. Breakfast buffet ($16.00 per person), parking ($20.00 per night), and the use of the pool ($8.00 per room per day) was a little pricey - but this is Washington, and is to be expected. Would highly recommend to anyone and would definitely return.
