Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is older and in need of the updating they promise is on the horizon. HVAC is antiquated and a/c was not working on this date with very warm days.

We loved being so close to everything. We didn't like that the heating wasn't working for the first 2 days, and there was no hot water for 2 days (not the same 2). The only thing I got in return for this discomfort was a refund of 3 days valet parking - we were there for a week. Breakfast was barely OK. If the room it was served in wasn't so grim, it would have been a lot better. The 'suite' we stayed in was basically a room big enough for 2 queen-sized beds and a small kitchenette. Don't stay here for the atmosphere.

Capitol Hill Suites is undergoing major remodel.Neds it in rooms especially bath closet area. Close to capital hill, restaurants within walking distance. Friendly staff. The developers who are remodeling will get their money back, I like staying t the Capitol Hill suites.

Great location in central DC, close to Capitol & to Eastern Market district, clean rooms with basic cooking, friendly staff. We would happily stay here again
Premium Suites? - posted on 12/11/2006
The price and locations for tourists in D.C., the location are good. But "Premium Suites"? No. It's a little tired, with dirty carpeting, humorously poor plaster repairs on the walls and ceiling, and seedy views of the alleys. The staff was lethargic and strangely secretive with information. On the plus side, the breakfast was plentiful and the eateries in the neighborhood were decent (Thai Roma was actually tasty in spite of the ridiculous name). And the beds were both clean and comfy.

For the price, the hotel was awesome! Only 1 block to the metro. Starbucks around the corner, few restaurants and store. Rooms were big. Beds were amazing. Cute neigborhood. Breakfast was great. I would definately stay here again. $20 cab ride from JFK. Fridge and micro we didnt use but nice to have anyways

This was a quaint hotel with a great location. The hotel management was a great help in ideas for places to eat and hang out. They were very friendly and I would stay there again for their quality service. It made the whole trip better. They were very nice people.
Needs Renovation - posted on 07/25/2006
This hotel is badly in need of renovation. I have stayed there for business 3 years in a row and the rooms remain musty and the carpets threadbare.

We enjoyed the spacious suite. There was enough room to put up 2 roll away beds!! The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was great!! Hotel staff was delightful and helpful! Would stay there again.
Good way to see DC - posted on 03/27/2006
This hotel is behind the Library of Congress & the House buildings. It's 2 blocks from the Metro & buses which is very easy to use to get to all DC has to offer. Very nice residential neighborhood. Large pleasant rooms.
Decent Value for the Money - posted on 11/07/2005
This is a safe clean hotel in a good location, close to the capitol and other points of interest. My room was a little smelly. It was comfortable though. They had a continental breakfast that was fine. I'd stay there again. The price was right, and it's in a great location. Note: The hotel is comprised of two buildings, I have no idea what the other building is like, although it looks pretty much like the building I stayed in, and I can say that beyond a locked front door, there's no security in the other building.
Great Location! - posted on 10/20/2005
This hotel was a GREAT LOCATION! Only 1 block to the metro stop--convenient for all the museums and government sites. Perfect for a working trip or a family vacation. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds are oh, so comfortable, and suites were VERY spacious! Nice to have a full size refrigerator, plus a very ample continental breakfast. I personally liked the old apartment style tile bathroom. Other reviews made me wary of this hotel, but I found it to be a great location at a bargain price compared to all the other downtown hotels.
Good location / not much else - posted on 10/13/2005
This hotel needs a serious revamp. Carpets are dirty, rooms are musty, bathrooms are small and old and the breakfast offered is something worth giving a mis. Parking is outrageous whilst internet services are not available in the rooms as advertised. Location is very good.

1 mile from train station, and central to Capitol and Library of Congress, nice quite street but taxi svc always available. Friendly front desk staff
Okay for the price - posted on 12/28/2004
The size of the suite was similar to a normal-2-bed-guestroom. Staff was constantly off-duty resulting in unanswered-calls. Parking is limited-but-free on the curbside and $28 for valet. The rooms were old. The view was terrible. The bathroom didn't have a door. There wasn't any temp-controls but temp. was okay. The hotel had literally like two people staying in it. The building was very old. Continental-breakfast was in the other-building. There was a variety-of-food. It wasn't the best hotel but considering the price I paid it was okay.

Wanted a hotel convenient to downtown but reasonably priced. This one had good reviews and the price was OK. It's a little frayed around the edges, and parking is pricey. But unless you plan to stay in your room, it works as a tourist or business hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. No restaurant, but lots of neat little restaurants just a block away.
