This hotel was amazing. From the moment you walked in you walked in you knew it was a 5 star. Sure the price is high but the service and attitude of the staff is impecable.
The bar against which I measure all other hotels - posted on 09/19/2006
I travel roughly 150 days a year, and this hotel is the "gold standard" I compare all others to. The service is impeccable, the rooms comfortable and quiet, the Concierge is outstanding, the location is unbeatable, and food is excellent.
Excellent Location - posted on 09/12/2006
This is a fine older hotel with an excellent staff. The rooms are small especially the bathroom. It is in an excellent location next to the White House and the tour trollies. The bar is a trendy hang out for the Washington set.
Great Stay! - posted on 01/23/2006
One of the best boutique hotels in Washington DC. Attentive and knowledgeable staff and plush rooms made for a pleassant business stay in DC. Have returned twice since original stay and continue to be impressed. Highly recommend.
Couldn't have been any better! - posted on 11/09/2005
There isn't enough space for to me write about the Hay Adams! The hotel was beautiful. Fresh flowers around every turn! The entire staff from the concierge to housekeeping was incredibly friendly! A small mistake was made with our room service and the manager called immediately to apologize and ask if he could send anything additional up with the corrected order. The concierge greeted us by our names and was very helpful reserving tickets and dinner. The food in their beautiful restaurant was fantastic. Their location can?t be matched by another hotel.
Excelence - posted on 08/23/2005
The hotel is beautiful, very well kept for an older building. The staff was fantastic and couldn't do enough for myself and fellow travelers. Our work with the VA keeps us on the go and we could not have found a nicer place in the area. Thanks

We stayed here because of the proximity to The White House and the reputation. Hotel is unbelievably overated. Rooms are shoeboxes, lobby is the size of a closet, bar is dark and gloomy and in the basement. Staff is exceptionally snobby. Concierge had more than an attitude and even refused to make reservations for us because he 'felt' everything would be booked! Way overpriced. No gym or fitness facilities. No cafe, only a snobby upscale restaurant. As a Centurion cardholder, I was more than disappointed with the facilities, services and the way we were treated.
Wonderful Anniversary - posted on 01/15/2005
While making our reservation I mentioned it was our anniversary. Our room was upgraded and the staff was wonderful. Rooms were beautiful. A place fit for a king.
