Bad Experience - posted on 05/16/2007

Pre requested services never provided ( Micro Fridge in room for Medications ). Front desk personel very rude. You felt like you were a bother to them. Couldn't even get a $20.00 Travlers Check cashed was told the didn't have enough cash to do it. So forget about any customer service.

OK - posted on 04/10/2007

This hotel isn't what we would choose if given the time. But, in a time crunch, we made do. It was safe and having the metro 2 blocks away was great. The metro is the best we have ridden.

Great value - posted on 03/16/2007

Hotel is in a safe area. Metro is 2 short blocks away. Restaurants are close by with many conveniences. Rooms very good and clean for the price. Checkin was terrible. After 3:00 p.m it took two hours to get a room. Elevator made awful noise all the time but willing to stay there again.

You get what you pay for - posted on 01/06/2007

Motel is in a great location, with a Burger King (serves breakfast) next door and myriad other fast-food and sit-down restaurants, CVS, grocery store and banks/ATMs in 1 block radius. Van Ness metro station is an easy 2 block walk. Motel is old and rooms are small (especially small bathrooms with no counter space), but everything was clean. The new, very fluffy and comfortable bed pillows were a nice touch. No microwave or fridge in room was disappointing. Good place to stay if you just need a place to crash for one night, or if you are on a very tight budget.

Hotel was good but.... - posted on 08/16/2006

the rooms are very small. Two adults and two children, we couldn't walk past each other. However, the room and bathroom was very, very clean. Also, you will have to pay an extra $15 a day plus tax for parking. Be warned! Good Location. Connecticut Ave. is a main D.C. thoroughfare..many restaurants and things in walking distance.

Good Location Needs Improvement - posted on 07/24/2006

This hotel was OK. It had a great price that allowed us to do other things on our budget. The location was also very convenient - 1 block from Metro and you are still in DC. The room and hotel could use some "updating". It wasn't dirty, just old. The rooms and corridors are small and crampy. A room refridgerator would have been nice and using the room safe should have been "free". Parking was easy - there was a garage next door. The daily parking fee wasn't that bad either. We wouldn't stay here again, but if you're looking for a decent place to just sleep this would work.

Basic hotel accommodations - posted on 05/12/2006

This hotel is a grat place for the DC sightseer, as it is only a short walk from the nearest Metro subway station and there are a couple of places to get food and a nearby grocery and drugstore. However, there are no laundry facilities on site or anywhere within a 3-mile radius, so if you plan to stay here, pack extra clothing. The staff could be more helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Hotel management needs to let people know that use of the in-room safe is $2.00 per day--it was an unpleasant surprise billing upon check-out.

If you have to - posted on 04/30/2006

It was a place to stay since reasonaby priced hotels further into DC were already booked. It certainly did reduce my commute from 1.5 hours to 25 minutes which was the reason for staying here. Would stay there again if I had to but would prefer a hotel closer to the Mall. Staff were usually frazzeled and slow.

Great location - posted on 04/28/2006

Our room was clean, good security in the hotel. Very noisy, though - I think a school trip of middle schoolers may have stayed there too - we heard kids talking and running up and down the halls until quite late. Additional soundproofing would have been very welcome.

We've stayed in several places that were much more expensive and not nearly as nice. We found the staff helpful and polite. Great value.

A reasonable tradeoff - posted on 02/27/2006

The excellent location of the hotel, and its moderate cost, is balanced by rooms that need cleaning, paint, and renovation.

Not happy - posted on 10/31/2005

My room didn't have any light I could work by.(I requested brighter light bulbs). No full length mirror to dress. Door signs were taped to all the rooms on the floor with blue tape. I asked the desk clerk if there were any fast food restruants around and she told me everything like that would be closed and suggested I dine next store at an Italian restauruant. I wanted to spend approx. $10.00, it cost me $41.00. Then after I finished and went back to my room I seen a burger king which was still open. I was not very happy about that. I asked if there was any place I could shop? The answer was only if I took a taxi to georgetown.

Great Location - posted on 08/14/2005

Rooms were very clean and nice. Location is two blocks from the metro and near everything from a Quiznos to higher end restaurants (within three blocks). Hey, it lacks a pool but if you're looking for a good rate and nice room minutes from downtown, this is a great place to stay and I'm glad our four person family did.
