Great Wolf Lodge resorts attract families throughout the year with a heated indoor waterpark. Williamsburg boasts 67,000 square feet of fun, with six pools - including a large wave pool - nine waterslides, and four-story treehouse with interactive water features. This hotel is known for being particularly busy, and despite a large, dedicated staff of lifeguards, at least one child has died here. It is always important for parents to keep an eye on their children, and to take advantage of the resorts life vests. Water definitely rules the day at this stop, but there are a variety of children's activities - from the Magic Quest treasure hunt to storytime in the grand lodge-inspired lobby. Rooms come in a wide variety, from queen sofa suites to lofts with fireplaces and more. Thankfully the hotel is in an area with many outside businesses to help manage the costs of everyday items.

With recent guests complaining of staff mistreatment, mold, old and uncomfortable bedding and an overall lack of security, I would not recommend staying here until refurbishments have begun. Instead, consider buying passes to the waterpark and staying somewhere nearby. These expensive rooms are well-themed, but often hard to sleep in. Cleanliness issues, mold, and worn down furniture did not live up to the price paid for the rooms. Staffers, except for the lifeguards in the pool area, were inefficient and rude. However, the biggest issue for this hotel is a lack of security, particularly with such activities as Magic Quest, which may encourage children to roam the halls unattended. 405 suites provided in 13 different varieties give travelers all the choice you could ever need. Not only do they offer lodging for bigger groups of people, but really appeal to the kid-friendly feel with treehouse-style lodging options like the KidCabin(R). On-site, guests will find a variety of shops, game rooms, an expansive waterpark and quiet workout room for adults.

Location may or may not be a concern for families staying at the Great Wolf Lodge, as guests have access to so many goods and services on-grounds. However, restaurants and retail outlets can all be found nearby. The big draw to the hotel is the gigantic (and very warm) indoor/outdoor waterpark, but there are also arcades, games, stores, and eateries at the hotel. Kids activities are scheduled throughout the day, such as storytime in the lobby. Adults have plenty to keep themselves busy as well, though the waterpark is just as fun for older families as those traveling with young children.
