The 160-room Courtyard by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront North is a full-service hotel located on the north end of Virginia Beach. The non-smoking, 11-story property is directly on the Virginia Beach boardwalk with easy access to the beach and Atlantic Ocean. Items included with the room rate are high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking, a morning newspaper and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The hotel has three meeting rooms for social or business functions. The largest can accommodate 120 guests. The property is close to five golf courses, nature and hiking trails, the Virginia Marine Science Museum and the Ocean Breeze Fun Park.

Families loved this Marriott property and said it was the ideal place for a family vacation. Many said they saw dolphins out at sea while they enjoyed swimming closer to shore. There were compliments for a competent and happy crew of employees, comfortable accommodation and the modern facilities. All the guestrooms, and 60 suites, have ocean views and a work desk with high-speed Internet access, cable television with movie channels and pay-per-view movies, alarm clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, coffee and tea making facilities and two-line telephone with voicemail, speakerphone and data ports. Bathrooms come with a separate shower and bathtub with spray jets. There are video players and games available for rent. The two-room suites have the added benefit of a kitchenette.

Amenities offered

The hotel has a tropical-style outdoor swimming pool that features rock waterfalls. When outdoor swimming is not available, there is a year-round indoor pool. The hotel’s Ocean Grill Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there are two eating-places nearby, the Aqua Vi and the Isle of Capri. Room service is available in the evenings from 5.30pm until 10pm. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a fitness center, coin-operated laundry, gift shop and newsstand, vending machines, copying and fax services and valet dry-cleaning.

From Norfolk Airport (ORF) 17 miles: Take I-64 East to I-264 East. Interstate ends and follow to end. Turn Left on Atlantic Avenue and go north for .5 miles to the Courtyard.
