The hotel is in the middle of a major revamp of its rooms. While I appreciate this as consumer and business woman. I have to say it was a nightmare trying to get any rest here. It was constant noise and drilling despite the clerk at the desk saying that the construction should only be audible from 9 am to 5pm. Horrible.

Staff was excellent.

They were undergoing a major construction project and I had to call several times to get them to stop drilling above our heads.

The 389-room Marriott Richmond Downtown is a full service hotel with quality accommodation equally suited to the upmarket business or leisure traveler. The 18-story, non-smoking property is located in the historic downtown area and is connected by skywalk to the Greater Richmond Convention Center. There are 26 meeting rooms for business or social functions. The largest, the Grand Ballroom, can accommodate 1,700 guests. Nearby landmarks and attractions include six golf courses, the Richmond Coliseum, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond International Raceway, James River Plantation, Deep Run Park, Kings Dominion, the Black History Museum and the University of Richmond.

This Marriott gets good reviews for affordable luxury accommodation along with super service from a team of employees determined to help and assist. Several clients said dining in the hotel was good but expensive. There are no restaurants within walking distance but the hotel does provide a complimentary shuttle. A good option was the hotels room service with a reasonably priced menu. Most guests said they would return to this hotel and had no hesitation in recommending it to others.
