Overall the hotel was acceptable. The rooms need to be updated and the water heating system was inadequate, however I would stay there again.
The staff was friendly and helpful, location was convenient

I was not happy with this hotel, compared to the Days Inn we had in Williamsburg. Little worked (ice machines, air conditioner, ATM, out of orange juice by 8:00 a.m., etc.) and it didn't appear to be maintained. The air conditioner, carpet and bathroom were grungy. The only good thing was its location off the highway, and, through shuttle service, the proximity to the subway system.
I liked its location in Alexandria and the fact that they had shuttle buses to the subway station. Lifeguard at pool.
My room felt grungy, and the first night the broken air conditioner failed in 105F temperatures. Pool too exposed to highway. Inadequate shade at pool.

If you would like to flex a few muscles during your stay, this hotel has you covered with it's relatively large swimming pool where you can have some fun in the sun as it is located outside and open seasonally. For a more intense work out, the front desk can refer you to a great fitness center nearby. Busy guests might appreciate having a fairly isolated business center at their disposal with high speed internet access. You can explain any safety concerns you may have to the on-duty security guard who is available all day long. Coffee and news papers are provided in the lobby every morning.

The place in generally is very unclean and has quite a buid-up of dirty and stickiness. Some rooms have bug problems. Bathroom and shower valves don't work properly. Carpeting isn't vacuumed or shampood periodically.
