Overall the hotel was acceptable. The rooms need to be updated and the water heating system was inadequate, however I would stay there again.
The staff was friendly and helpful, location was convenient
Room was in disrepair, holes in ceiling and walls

I was not happy with this hotel, compared to the Days Inn we had in Williamsburg. Little worked (ice machines, air conditioner, ATM, out of orange juice by 8:00 a.m., etc.) and it didn't appear to be maintained. The air conditioner, carpet and bathroom were grungy. The only good thing was its location off the highway, and, through shuttle service, the proximity to the subway system.
I liked its location in Alexandria and the fact that they had shuttle buses to the subway station. Lifeguard at pool.
My room felt grungy, and the first night the broken air conditioner failed in 105F temperatures. Pool too exposed to highway. Inadequate shade at pool.

Good hotel but the bed was extremely hard and was uncomfortable.
Alexandria Days Inn's greatest features is its location and its convenient access to both places near and far. Historical enthusiasts can check out the Fort Ward Museum and historical site, only three miles away. The distinguished downtown area of Alexandra is only five miles from the hotel, and you can reach Washington in just a couple of minutes from the hotel which is at the corner of I-395 and Route 236. While you're here, eating out will be a treat as there are tempting eateries for all tastes in the surrounding area. Guests with young children can head to a nearby playground to have some fun in the great outdoors. There also golfing and tennis opportunities near the hotel. The front desk is open 24-hours which enables late night check in and out as well keeps an eye on any valuables you store in the safe deposit box.

Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?
The place in generally is very unclean and has quite a buid-up of dirty and stickiness. Some rooms have bug problems. Bathroom and shower valves don't work properly. Carpeting isn't vacuumed or shampood periodically.
