Great hotel, loved the comfortable beds! - posted on 11/16/2006
Good hotel, good value for money.
Great staff - posted on 01/20/2006
This was a weekend getaway for me. A chance to unwind. The staff was gracious and very helpful with anything I required. The only thing I did not expect was no room service at night. The room service menu was very limited. The bar downstairs was very nice. I would recommend this place to business persons and students, but not for honeymooners or couples.
Good value - posted on 04/09/2007
Walkable to the metro (about half a mile), friendly staff, clean rooms, free internet and parking, good breakfast but no lunch/dinner availability to speak of, however a couple of places nearby deliver, a few restaurants close enough to walk to

The staff and service were above and beyond expectation. Location was the most convenient for any area we wanted to travel to. Cleanliness superb. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone in the Washington DC area.
Good location, free parking - posted on 03/04/2007
This was a nice place to stay - convenient for day trips into the city without the hassle of driving. The metro station is close, and hotel parking is free. The hot breakfast was tasty and satisfying, and the staff was always pleasant. Some of the furniture and carpeting could use an update, but otherwise, we'd stay here again.
Great Trip - posted on 08/01/2006
The staff was better than great, they were awesome. Hot cookies everyday were wonderful. Shuttle was sometimes a bit slow, but they were always friendly and apologetic. Shuttle available to Metro every 15 minutes and to Old Town at night. Internet available. I am handicapped and they couldn't have been more helpful, carrying my breifcase and luggage with no hint of asking for a large tip as other hotels. I would recommend this hotel highly!
The Courtyard is a great place to stay - posted on 06/01/2006
Our recent visit to Alexandria VA was very relaxing, thanks to the Courtyard by Mariott. The rooms were clean and pleasantly decorated. The price is reasonalble, the housekeeping and desk clerks were friendly. Service was great. Desk clerks give great directions. The metro was conviently located 3 blocks away. Resturants and entertainment were within walking distance. The shuttle bus to downtown Historic Alexandria was fast, friendly and reliable. The breakfast buffet had a variety of tasty foods to chose from but it seemed to take a long time before the food was replaced.

Good hotel in a jam for last minute business trip - posted on 08/29/2005
It's a Courtyard at Marriott hotel, so you get what you pay for. Clean rooms, friendly staff, fairly comfortable beds. The value was not that great; I think a lower rate is justified for this hotel, but a good night's stay nonetheless. It really helped me in a pinch when at hte last minute I had to plan a business trip to Alexandria, VA. This hotel was 5 minutes from where I would be doing business.
Weekend Get Away - posted on 06/21/2005
I needed a quick get away for 2 nights and the Courtyard provided quiet accomodations, very clean, and a good excercise room. High speed hookup is available, as well as current pay per view movies. My only 2 negatives; Parking is minimal at best, and room service wasn't available on the weekend. However, there are numerous restaurants available within a short driving distance. I'll stay there again.

I was very pleased with the internet access. The courtyard was sufficient. I was a bit taken back by the slow response with the courtesy van. It may be normal, but it would be nice when you call for the shuttle, if the operator could give an approx. wait time.
Cable Man? - posted on 12/12/2004
During my stay, the cable man banged on my door several times. As I was sleeping at the time, this was not good. When I called the front desk, I was told that they were upgrading the on-demand movie system and I would have to allow them access. When I requested a different room so that I could sleep, the manager became upset. I really think that rooms should be serviced when the guest are not sleeping? If you agree, avoid this one.
