I would highly recommend it as a good place to stay.

The staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and very adequate.

It was sometimes difficult to make a left turn from the parking lot.

Located near the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, this three-story hotel offers comfortable accommodations for those interested in exploring the 18th century town with a 20-block historic district and beautiful nature parks. After enjoying an expanded Continental breakfast, guests can visit the 1933 Barter Theatre, bike the Virginia Creeper Trails, or the Abingdon Vineyard and Winery. On a hot day, return to the hotel and relax in the inviting pool. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel including The Tavern from the 1700s, Harbor House Seafood and The Cracker Barrel.

Abingdon is an interesting, historic town; its not just a place travelers pass through without exploring. Its worth an overnight stay at least. The hotel was renovated in 2008 and offers a fresh, clean and comfortable place to stay. The complimentary breakfast is more than adequate with a number of hot features, and the hotel's proximity to local attractions, some within walking distance, make a visit here a pleasant one.
