Had a great stay. Pool was warm and clean as was the spa. Close to the shopping area all over.
Best Stay on our US trip - posted on 05/14/2007
I selected the hotel based on positive reviews and was not disappointed. Suites were spacious, well provided for had really good beds. First suite had an air-con problem that could not be fixed, which gave us a warm night. The sincere personal touch was a bonus.

Clean room, great bed and bedding, fantastic full breakfast includes hot oatmeal and other hot choices, lovely furnishings, and a resident cat to make you feel at home. Close to Shelburne Museum, Lake Champlain, and quaint downtown Burlington.

You can't beat the friendly staff, the clean suites, the food & drink - they have it all. Have been leisure travel & extended stay (3 months). Wouldn't go anywhere else.
A serious disappointment - posted on 07/05/2006
Poor housekeeping throughout the hotel would have been helped by running a vacuum in the high traffic hallways; a single functioning jet in hot tub caused visible particles of chemical scum to accumulate in corners of the tub. Non-functioning ice maker in room refrigerator, with no ice machine easily available, weedy patio area easily viewed from the hall near the elevators showed extreme inattention. On the positive side, the location is great for the university and for downtown. The physical structure is nice. I would not stay at or recommend this chain.

Like my counterpart in West Hartford, I always stay in this hotel when I travel up to VT. I usually stay for about a week 6 times a year and you can't be the price for what you get. You can also call and request a room with a fireplace, which is great for when you get stuck in a Nor'easter (which I have). They have complimentary happy hour w/food...great staff and close to UVM and the shopping district.
We love to stay at Hawthorne Suites - posted on 11/29/2005
We almost always stay at this hotel in Burlington, VT. Not only is it a two room suite with full kitchen, we take our dog with us for a nominal fee. The lobby is comfy and cozy and the staff and guests always friendly.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hawthorne Suites Burlington, VT. The room was large and clean with good sized bath room. The pool and spa were clean and spacious. the AM breakfast was excellent. When ever I visit Burlington again ( and I will because Ihave family there) I will stay at the Hawthorne Suites. It was convenient to everything I needed.

never again - posted on 01/01/2005
stayed here partly due to 2 excellent reviews; in truth the hotel was dirty - rugs hadn't been vacuumed in at least a week; one bed had no matress cover, all blankets had holes in them; we needed more shampoo so 3 bottles were delivered - 1 full, 1 half full, and the last one 1/4 full - two bottles clearly taken partly used from another room!Way overpriced; an uncomfortable experience, never again!

My wife and I LIVED in this hotel for approx five months over a two year period. Beautiful fireplace in entryway, very social feeling with other guests due to breakfasts and evening snacks together. We absolutely love the place. You can't do better for the money!!
