The hotel room was better than expected for the price range. The desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Family Vacation - posted on 01/20/2006
I loved the hotel. The people that worked there were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to everything we wanted to do. The interstate was less than 2 minutes from the hotel. The continental breakfast could have had more of a selection. It was enough for my daughters to have a bowl of cereal and waffles for the adults. The swimming pool was the perfect size for the little ones and kept them happy. There was also a washer and dryer; the hotel even provided free dryer sheets. The staff at the front desk was very knowledgable about the area and gave us ideas on activities and restaurants. Our room came with a refrigerator and microwave. If we ever go on vacation to Burlington Vermont, I would stay at the Days Inn in Colchester.
Good Value - posted on 01/20/2006
Good hotel for a small family on a tight budget. In the outskirts of Burlington, VT, close to the airport. Small clean rooms with decent beds. There is a small indoor pool which we didn't get to use but looked nice. Complementary continental breakfasts with make-your-own waffles were a hit with us. The girls working the front desk were very nice.
Okay. adaquate in some ways - yet a couple of concens - posted on 03/07/2007
We were glad to stay at the Days Inn in Colchester. The desk person at check in was wonderful, the breakfast was very good and the bed was fine. We were concerned that we had asked for a non-smoking room ( as I have allergies) and the room had obvious odor of smoke (although it was a non-smoking designated room). The other concern was that the tub floor was not cleaned well. It was darkened and needed a good scrubbing. Thank you for asking. Steven Clark

We unfortunately ended up with a smoking room which smelled it. We requested a non-smoking room and were informed there was only a queen room which would cost us $100.00 more per night. We opened the window and turned up the heat. They gave us some spray to use, which made it tolerable. The room was not as clean as it could be. There was dust in the corners and in the bathroom. and the carpet could have used a good shampoo. The pool was small. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. Would not go back to this motel.

Old building! - posted on 01/13/2007
Understanding that this is an old building made my stay fun. I went to VT to see VT, old, old VT....so I had a blast. Hotel has inside access to rooms, and runs like an old hotel. Last place I went could get directions from a computer....don't expect this, but go with the expectation that this is where you will sleep and groom....I loved it. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Could have been Better - posted on 07/06/2006
We booked a room for two nights. The staff was friendly and we were able to book a room for Saturday night for my father, however, when he checked into the room it was all right. When he got up in the morning to take a shower, the bathtub had hair in the drain and was not clean at all. Then, the houskeeping staff proceeded to knock on the door every 5 minutes starting at 9am asking when we were all checking out. Even though we told them soon, they wouldn't leave us alone. The first night was ok, however after that it was horrific. I would not stay there again.

The breakfast would have been better with pastries and a wider choice of cereal.

Not a bad hotel for the price. I would stay there again if in the area. A plus is easy access to the interstate.
