Customer Reviews for Holiday Inn South Burlington

Decent hotel. I would come back again - posted on 11/16/2006

We stayed one night while making a college visit. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was polite. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was good. The location is right off Rt. 89 and within walking distance to stores and some resturaunts. Just a short drive to UVM and downtown. No complaints

The room at the holiday inn was average, very noisy at night. Being close to the college, I can understand that. The stay was average at best.

I had a wonderful Experience. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly! They gave me directions to all the local attractions, a list of the local music playing in town, and even a brief history lesson of Vermont!

Ok stay - posted on 06/27/2006

The lounge was good. Nice TVs. Great public areas. Tough to get in and out of. Had to take a smoking room for a non-smoker (only availability). Bad idea.

It was OK - posted on 05/23/2006

Free coffee in lobby would be nice as well as a newspaper every day. Only got one on Monday. Halls smelled musty on 3rd floor.

Great Service - posted on 03/03/2006

The hotel was just finishing its renovations on their meeting rooms and it didn't disturb us at all. The staff made our stay very nice and they were always friendly and helpful. The kids eat free was a great addition

This hotel was not wonderful for the money we spent and it smells bad too.I would not stay there again because the service was so bad and the hotel was rotten and they didn't care how they treated us and they didn't try to make our stay better ,they had our money.

The "Holiday" that wasn't - posted on 08/09/2005

Upon arriving at the Holiday Inn, we were assigned to a room. When we entered the room, (which was unlocked), the carpets were being dried and all furniture was piled in the center of the room. The bathroom had a tape across the door. So...we go back to the reception desk, relate the situation, and are given another room and a free movie voucher for our inconvenience. This room had an adjoining door which would not shut and lock. We tried several times to shut and lock it, to no avail. Again, we went to the reception desk, and gave the clerk a maintenance repair form (which we had found in the room), and were told "OK". No one came to check on the situation, and finally, later that night, we managed to shut and lock the door. BUT WAIT...there's more! The bedspreads were soiled. One bedspread had nasal discharge crusted and smeared on it, while the other had blood stains on it. We asked the maids to replace the bedspreads with clean ones. To our utter dismay, we found the old, soiled ones neatly folded on the floor, where they remained for the duration of our stay. No clean bedspreads were supplied. THEN...on the morning of our departure, we were awakened early in the morning by two giggling girls who were trying desperately to get into our room. Luckily, we had the safety lock on the door, because, THEIR KEY WORKEDIN OUR DOOR!!! They were surprised that they could not get in the room, and tried over and over, giggling loudly and trying to open the safety lock from the outside, until we said to them (through the door) "EXCUSE ME!" The girls then giggled and went off. I have stayed at this Holday Inn before, the service was not like this previously. Things have deteriorated, and it wasn't due to renovations. The renovations were never a factor. Will I stay here again? Not a chance!

Top Notch Amenaties - posted on 07/22/2005

It was the second time I had visited this hotel. The first time extensive renovations were in progress to update the 70's look and decor. Me and my family were promised that if we would return in a year the renos would be complete. YA RIGHT!!! This time it was the lobby been renoed. The one major security issue is that there is a bar adjacent to the lobby that play loud music and draws a fairly unpleseant crowd. They also wander around the hotel even iof they are not staying there.

The room was shabby and the mattress must have been there since the place was built in the sixties. Very disappointed.
