The Priceline Downtown/University Park location area seems drawn extraordinarily wide just to include this hotel, 4 miles east of downtown -- in a location inconvenient to transit or walking, but safe. But otherwise the hotel was great. Staff were friendly; room was comfortable, clean, and fresh; amenities were appropriate for the star rating.

The location is out-of-the-way near the mountains with well manicured lawns. Everything was clean. Continuous upkeep with outside garbage that was emptied when necessary, not once in awhile. Staff friendly and helpful. Very good experience.

Exceptionally clean. Real pillows instead of foam rubber! Starbucks coffee in lobby.

The 218-room Marriott Salt Lake City University Park provides quality accommodation at a reasonable price equally suited to the business traveler or families on vacation. The seven-story, non-smoking hotel enjoys great views of the Wasatch Mountains and is close to the University of Utah, Hogle Zoo, Red Butte Gardens and the high-tech Research Park. Items included in the room rate are in-room tea and coffee, local phone calls and a morning newspaper. The hotel has 10 meeting rooms available for business or social events. The largest, the Bonneville Room, can accommodate 500 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include five golf courses, seven ski resorts, concerts at Gallivan Plaza, ES Arena, home of the Utah Jazz, Hale Center Theatre, Clark Planetarium, the Utah State Capitol Building, Lagoon Amusement Park and shopping at Gateway Plaza and Gardner Village.

Many guests who have stayed at this Marriott say it is a fine hotel with superb service and spacious, comfortable rooms at an affordable price. There were some guests who complained about trains and planes noise but most clients did not notice it. Tip from those in the know: Get a room with a mountain view. First-time visitors said they will use this hotel on future visits to the city and will recommend the property to others.
