Anyone wishing to visit Utah either loves the outdoors or loves to celebrate. Home to the 2002 Winter Olympics, the spectacular scenery and limitless activities in addition to the many wonderful festivals held throughout the year make Utah an exciting place to explore.
You’ll find stunning scenery throughout the state but if you’d like to see it all at once visit the Zion National Park. The canyons, waterfalls and hiking trails make it one of the most visited parks in the state. You won’t need to trek down to a state park to enjoy a little exercise though. Most of the cities have fantastic hiking and biking trails for you to enjoy.
Other fantastic areas worth exploring include the north rim of the Grand Canyon, Snow Canyon, Lake Powell and Lake Mead, just to name a few. The Arches and Canyonlands National Parks draw in hard core outdoor enthusiasts as well. In case you need a break from all the above ground beauty, you could always go to the Timpanogos Cave National Monument, which has miles of underground trails. Utah is also home to the Great Salt Lake, which is the second saltiest body of water in the world. The nature and wildlife that surrounds it are absolutely beautiful.
Skiing in Utah is a treat, even for the pros. This state has got you covered, whether you love the greens or challenge yourself on the double diamond runs. Plus, the snowfalls here tend to be quite generous, providing you with enough powder to last your entire ski trip. There are mountains that provide trams and lifts to take you to the top if you’d rather enjoy the view and not have to make your own way down.
Affectionately known as Festival City USA, you know you’re in for a good time in Utah. Enjoy the Thunderbird Film Festival, the American Children’s Festival or even the July Jamboree. One of its most popular ones though is the award winning Utah Shakespearean Festival. More than 150,000 visitors come to enjoy this spectacular event every year.
Get out the party hats, grab your bottled water and get ready for your adventures in Utah.
