I was skeptical about this hotel at first but the staff were very friendly and helpful, provided free shuttle service to the Riverwalk. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast was fabulous! I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff we met, was very friendly and helpful!

The hotel itself was a good one. The staff was friendly and the accommodations were just what we needed. It was convenient to the River Center, the actual neighborhood was in the slums. There were loud trains going by every hour or so at night, so it was not restful.

Good accommodations, friendly staff.

Noisy trains at night, rundown neighborhood.

The hotel was nice. The rooms were clean and updated. The breakfast was great. The service was good. One thing was that some people had to wait for their rooms to be cleaned and it was well after the check-in time. They weren't real accommodating; not offering another room or compensation. The shuttle service was great although the vehicle was a little dirty and unkept. Drivers were more than accommodating though, and friendly. Overall, it was a good experience.

The free breakfast and shuttle service to points on the Riverwalk that the pricier hotels did not offer.

The area just a few blocks away was a little rundown.

The 81-room Holiday Inn Express San Antonio Rivercenter Area caters to both the vacationer and business traveler. The hotel operates a free shuttle service to the Convention Center, River Center Mall and Market Square. Other items included with the room rate at this four-story, non-smoking hotel are a hot breakfast buffet, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, a morning newspaper, in-room tea and coffee and parking. There is one meeting room available for business or social functions that can accommodate 75 guests. Landmarks and attractions away from the downtown area include several golf courses, the Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park, SeaWorld San Antonio marine park and the SplashTown San Antonio amusement park.

This is an excellent hotel, a short shuttle ride from the Riverwalk and less expensive than those properties located directly on the famous walk. The rooms here are spacious, comfortable and clean and the friendly and efficient team of employees knows all about the area attractions and the best restaurants nearby. Most travelers who have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express highly recommend the property and say they will definitely stay here again on future visits to San Antonio.
