The 46-apartment Fairfield Riverside Suites, now known as the Wyndham Riverside Suites, is part of the Wyndham Vacation Ownership program. The upmarket suites are in the heart of the Riverwalk area and designed for vacationers. This resort condominium is located directly on the banks of the River Walk just a block and a half from the Alamo. The historic building was built in 1928 and completely renovated in 2000. Items included with the room rate are a morning get together with other guests for coffee and donuts, use of a computer in the lobby area and local telephone calls.

The location, right on Riverwalk within walking distance of the Alamo, was the major attraction for visitors to this property. The comfort and luxury of the accommodation tempted many visitors to consider buying a timeshare in the project. Fairfield Riverside Suites Accommodations

All of the apartment have an Italian décor and come with a kitchen and separate sleeping area. The kitchens have a microwave oven, full-size refrigerator, washer-dryer, cutlery, and crockery. Other amenities include cable television with movie channels, IDD telephone and a hairdryer.

Amenities offered

The 24-hour front desk can arrange transfers to and from the airport and has information on area events and attractions. The staff can also arrange for long-term parking at a nearby garage. Many visitors here said they never used their car during the stay since it was easier to get around on trolleys and taxis. There is no restaurant on-site but dozens within a short walk. Landry’s Seafood Restaurant is next to the property as it the nightclub Polly Esters.

From San Antonio International Airport, 8 miles: Take US 281 South to I 37 South. Take the Commerce Street exit. Stay on the exit ramp, and turn right onto Commerce Street, which is a one-way street. Continue for five blocks to Navarro Street, which is also a one-way street, and turn right onto Navarro Street. Continue for two blocks to College Street, and make a right.
