The pet-friendly Residence Inn San Antonio Northwest comprises 128 suites designed for the extended-stay business traveler or families on vacation. Suites at this two-story, non-smoking hotel have separate living and sleeping areas and fully equipped kitchens. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, hospitality hours on Monday through Thursday evenings, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Area landmarks and attraction include five golf courses, Riverwalk, the Alamo, Sea World of Texas, San Antonio Zoological Gardens and Aquarium, Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park, El Mercado or Market Square, IMAX Theater @ Rivercenter Mall and Mission Trail.

Families who stayed in the larger two-bedroom suites said the hotel made an ideal base for touring the area. The well equipped kitchen enabled some home cooked meals thus saving on restaurant expenses. Sadly there were several complaints that the property is starting to look a little old and tired. Despite this the hotel gets a YES rating because of its happy crew of friendly and efficient employees and the rates remain reasonable when you consider all the extras that are included. All the suites have a fully equipped kitchen with a conventional oven and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a fireplace, work desk with ergonomic chair and high-speed Internet access, pullout sofa bed, two telephones with voicemail and data ports, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, hairdryer, alarm clock and an iron and ironing board. Video games and players are available for rent.
