This Marriott was wonderful. Staff is very professional, extremely helpful and courteous. Location is excellent!

While the hotel is pretty standard insofar as rooms and amenities, the service is so above par it makes for a great stay. The front desk folks are fantastic. The hotel is also convenient to everything.

I visited San Antonio on business, booked a standard room and was upgraded to the concierge (28th) level because of an error with my reservation. I couldnt have been more pleased. Service was superb, room was great, balcony overlooking the rivercenter was awesome. Sweet, soft Andes Indian flute music floated thru the air for 3 days and the full moon view out of the patio doors was awesome. Truly a romantic place to go. I felt completely safe shopping the river center in the evenings by myself. I'll go back in a heartbeat!
A lot to be desired - posted on 11/24/2006
This hotel left a lot to be desired. If you want to go on the internet you have to pay $10 in your room for ethernet and $10 in the lobby for wireless. If you want to watch TV and relax, you have approximately 20 channels, without some of the usuals. If you want breakfast, be ready to drop $12. The location is right next to the convention center, but others are very close as well. They do let you print 20 pages for free which is nice. Could have been better, but could have been worse.

This is a lovely hotel with a very good staff but look elsewhere if you want to relax on the Riverwalk. There are several other hotels in much more quiet settings nearer by. Convenience to convention meetings would be the only reason to stay here. The Riverwalk just touches one small part of the hotel but traffic on both sides makes it one hotel I would pass on next time.
Horrible Beds - posted on 03/22/2006
This hotel had the worst beds! We had to have a roll-away, which consisted of some fabric covering some springs. I thought it was horrible until slept on one of the regular beds. We spent the rest of our time fighting over who got to sleep on the "springs". The view from the hotel was beautiful. It was in an awesome location, and the mall was right across the street. The hotel was on the river. The kids thought it was great. They loved to go out on the balcony and watch the boats. We loved everything about it, except for the beds!

Bring your earplugs - posted on 02/08/2006
The hotel itself is very nice and clean, staff is great, DEFINITELY get a Mango Sangria Margarita from the bar! The bad part is the location... our room was close to the street and we hardly got ANY sleep with the motorcycles and drag racers. Good part about the location was it's proximity to the riverwalk but be sure to bring some earplugs for the street noise.

upon check in we were given a LARGE rm on the 24th floor, balcony with a beautiful view, great bed, soft bedding , down pillows, and the right price - what could be better!
A Good Time - posted on 08/31/2005
Although the rooms were on the small side, if you only spend a night or two they are fine. Everything appeared to be well kept & clean. The concierge lounge closed for the weekend which was a drag. Being adjacent to the Riverwalk is wonderful.
