The Marriott Plaza San Antonio is located in historic San Antonio one block from the Riverwalk and three from the Alamo. This historic hotel has a lovely landscaped entrance. While pets are welcome they may feel some competition from the pheasants and peacocks that are free to wander the lawns and flowerbeds. Guests to the property will feel that they have stepped into an oasis away from the city. The property is beautifully landscaped with lovely courtyards and fountains to cool off the hot San Antonio sun. The hotel is perfect for weddings and other social events, as guests can choose from an outdoor event or host their event in one of the historic buildings. The outdoor pool is landscaped with brick and tile and set amongst old oaks and flowers. For the true outdoor enthusiast a game of croquet is always a fun way to spend an afternoon. Tennis can be enjoyed on the lit courts.
Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?
As is typical of all Marriott hotels, guests must pay for everything, internet, parking etc and it is not cheap. The more expensive rooms enjoy the quietness of the hotel's courtyard. However lower end rooms overlook the city and the city noise can be heard. Be careful of getting a room with an adjoining door as your neighbour's conversation can be heard through the door. However the rooms are quite spacious with a lovely sittng area and working desk. The pool is quite impressive and walking around on the hotel property, you will feel that you have left the city.
