The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas Plano provides reasonably priced extended stay accommodation equally suited to families on vacation or the business traveler. The three-story, non-smoking comprises 126 suites each with a kitchen and separate living and sleeping areas. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a manager’s reception on midweek evenings, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking, a copy of USA Today and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The property has one meeting room available for social or business functions that can accommodate 30 guests. The hotel is close to the corporate offices of EDS, Frito-Lay and JC Penney. There are four golf courses a short drive from the property. Area attractions and landmarks include downtown Dallas, Six Flags over Texas theme park, the Fort Worth Stock Yards and shopping at Willow Bend, Stonebriar Mall, Valley View Mall and the Galleria.

All of the suites have a fireplace and a kitchen with a conventional oven and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone with voicemail, pullout sofa bed, cable television with movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, hairdryer, alarm clock and an iron and ironing board.

This inn has an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool, fitness center and a sports court. The only meals served here are breakfast and the snacks at the mid week manager’s reception. The inn offers a grocery shopping service and has a list of restaurants that will deliver to the property. There are several places to eat nearby including Kirby’s Steakhouse, a Cheesecake Factory, TGI Fridays and the Luna de Noche Mexican restaurant. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a coin-operated laundry, fax and copying services, valet dry-cleaning, vending machines and a picnic area with a barbecue grill.

From Dallas/Love Field Airport (DAL) 17 miles: Take a left out of the airport exit onto Mockingbird Lane. Take Mockingbird to the North Dallas Tollway. Head North on the Tollway. Exit at Spring Creek Parkway and turn right onto Spring Creek. Go east for two miles to Preston. At Preston make a left and the hotel is at the intersection of Whitestone Lane and Preston Road.
