The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas Las Colinas provides affordable extended stay accommodation for both the business traveler and families on vacation. The two-story property has 120 suites and is minutes from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and the city of Irving, which is home to Las Colinas Studios. Films made here include JFK and Robocop and studio tours are available. The non- smoking hotel has two meeting rooms for social or business functions. Items included in the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a mid-week manager’s reception, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking, a morning newspaper and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. There are eight golf courses within easy driving distance of the property. Downtown Dallas is a 20-minute drive. Area attractions include the Fort Worth Stockyards, the Six Flags Over Texas theme park, Texas Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys and horse racing at Lone Star Park.

Many families found this a great place for a family reunion. The two-bedroom suites were ideal for large families and the inn is close to the airport for those attending from out of town. Most clients here said the rates were reasonable and the employees did a fine job of making everyone feel at home. Some pet owners though the $100 pet charge was too high. Those who stayed here for more than a week said when you average the cost over the entire stay, it is only a few dollars a day to have the company of your favorite pooch. All of the suites have a fireplace and a kitchen with conventional oven and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone with voicemail, pullout sofa bed, cable television with movie and news channels, VCR player, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board.

This inn has an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool, fitness center and a sports court. The only meals served here are breakfast and the mid week light dinners at the manager’s reception. The inn offers a grocery shopping service and can arrange for area restaurants to deliver to the inn. There are several places to eat nearby including Bennigans, a Boston Market, Bahama Breeze and a Chili’s. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a coin-operated laundry, business center, valet dry-cleaning, vending machines and a picnic area with a barbecue grill.
