The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Houston West University comprises 120 one and two-bedroom suites each with a full kitchen and separate living and sleeping areas, ideally suited to the longer-stay leisure or business traveler. The three-story, non-smoking property is close to the Texas Medical Center, home to MD Anderson Cancer Center. The inn provides a complimentary shuttle to the center. Other items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a managers reception on Monday through Thursday evenings, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking, a morning newspaper and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The hotel is located in the Greenway Plaza - West University area, a short drive from downtown Houston, Rice University and the citys museum district. A station on the Metro light rail system is one mile from the hotel.

This inn gets excellent reviews from those who have stayed here. The staff is praised for being efficient, friendly and helpful and the accommodation is clean and comfortable. Many guests say they received great value for their money. The complimentary breakfast was much more than most clients expected. The free shuttle to the medical center was an added bonus for those needing to attend that facility. Several clients said this hotel had all the comforts of home and they would stay here on future visits to the area.
