The 365-room Marriott Houston Medical Center is in the Texas Medical Center and connected to the medical schools, Methodist Hospital, Scurlock and Smith Towers with a climate-controlled skyway. The pet-friendly, non-smoking hotel is steps away from Houston's MetroRail, which provides inexpensive transportation to Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans, the city’s museum district, Hermann Park Zoo, Midtown, Downtown and the theater district. The 26-story, full service hotel has 14 meeting rooms for social or business functions. The largest can accommodate 700 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include the Galleria shopping complex, several golf courses, Minute Maid Park, home of Houston Astros, the Contemporary Arts Museum and the Miller Outdoor Theater.

The location in the center of the Houston Medical Center is the major attraction of this hotel. It is so much part of the center that several clients commented that the hotel lobby has a clinical ambience. Many former clients said they received helpful advice from an attentive and efficient team of employees. Couples said it was a quieter location for a weekend getaway but said there were better hotels in the city if you come here for sightseeing. Marriott Houston Medical Center Accommodations

All the guestrooms, and 21 suites, have a large work desk with high-speed Internet access, cable television with movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, VCR player, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, wet bar, hairdryer, bathrobes and cordless telephone with voicemail and speakerphone. Video games and players are available for rent. Some of the rooms and suites have the added benefit of a refrigerator, microwave oven and dishwasher.

The hotel’s Driscoll’s Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Paladora Lounge serves lunch and dinner and there is a Starbucks Coffee on-site. Room service operates from 6am until 11pm and the hotel can arrange for deliveries from area restaurants. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and fitness center. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes. Other amenities include a concierge desk, valet-dry cleaning, coin-operated laundry, full service business center, an ATM, vending machines, florist and a gift shop and newsstand.

From Houston/William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) 15 mile: Take I-45 North to 610 Loop West, exit Fannin. Turn right at the light, go north two miles to Dryden Street and turn left for Marriott entrance. From Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) 30 miles: Take Highway 59 South to Fannin Exit, turn left, going south two miles to Dryden Street. Turn right for Marriott entrance.
