This 30-storey, atrium hotel in the center of downtown, features rich wood furnishings, stained glass accents and has 977 guestrooms. The Hyatt Regency Houston is home to Spindletop, Houston's only revolving rooftop restaurant, and provides guests with free transportation to shop and offices near the hotel. The property is located in the center of Houston’s business and entertainment districts. It is close to the Metro light rail system which travels to the museum district, the zoo or the city’s Medical Center within minutes. The hotel is fully equipped for conferences, exhibitions and functions with a total of 31 meetings rooms.

Many who have stayed here say it is the best hotel in Houston. Highly praised were the staff and reasonable rates. Businessmen appreciated the free shuttle to and from the convention center particularly during the hot summer weather. There have been complaints that some of the facilities and accommodation are starting to look a little tired. But those comments will soon vanish. The hotel is due for a major refit in early 2008. Hyatt Regency Houston Accommodations

The least expensive rooms have views of downtown and offer a choice of one king or two double beds. Amenities include Internet access, satellite TV with on-demand movies, dual phones with voicemail and speakerphone, iron and ironing board and coffee maker. Safe deposit boxes are available near the front desk and room service operates during regular hours.

Dining options include Whistler’s Walk Café for American cuisine, Spindletop, the revolving restaurant for steak and seafood and Ducks Company which has a rotisserie and grill. There is a 24-hour coffee shop and gift shop and the Park Bar is in the lobby. There is a heated, outdoor swimming pool, located on the sixth floor along with a surrounding sundeck. The gym is open 24/7 and there are soda and ice machines throughout the property. The hotel offers laundry and dry cleaning service and can arrange for car rentals and baby sitters.

Cross Louisiana Street and enter motor lobby on right at the corner of Louisiana and Polk. From Hobby Airport (12 miles): Take 45 North and exit Scott St onto St. Joseph Pkwy. Turn right on Louisiana St. The hotel will be on your left. From Points East: Take I-10 West, then merge onto I-45 South. Follow remaining directions from George Bush Intercontinental Airport to hotel. From Points North: Take I-45 South. Follow remaining directions from George Bush Intercontinental Airport to hotel.
