Overall it seems to be a very well managed hotel. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

I liked the attentiveness of the staff. I was greeted promptly in a professional manner.

The interior decor was very well done, modern, perfectly scaled and comfortable. The hotel was posh, but for one of this quailty I expected free wireless internet service. The The soundproofing was below par. I could hear my neighbors every move.

The decor was excellent.

No free wireless, soundproofing grossly inadequate.

With the room charge being costly, parking should be free or cheaper. Overall, the hotel was a nice place to stay and I would come back.

The 514-room JW Marriott Hotel Houston is adjacent to the citys Galleria shopping and commercial complex, which boasts more than 200 exclusive stores. The red brick 23-story, non-smoking property is close to the famous Holocaust Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts. The full-service hotel caters to the upmarket business and leisure travel and has seven concierge floors. The property has 17 meeting rooms for business or social events. The largest, the Exhibit Hall, can accommodate 1,200 guests. Nearby landmarks and attractions include Minute Maid Park, home of Houston Astros, the Houston Zoo, Lakewood Church, the theater district, the Battleship Texas and the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Now that the rooms and lobby have been renovated, this majestic Marriott gets great reviews from those who have stayed here. There were complaints about delays in checking in and getting help from the front desk. Hopefully the new lobby, and some additional help, will solve that problem. This is a great place to stay and most clients say they will be back the next time they visit Houston. Words of advice from former clients: Do not forget the extras when you look at the prices. Parking, Internet access and breakfast costs could add more than $40 to the daily rate.
