The 197-room Courtyard by Marriott Houston Brookhollow caters mainly to business clients but has facilities equally suited to the leisure traveler. The pet-friendly property is seven miles from downtown Houston and provides free parking and high-speed Internet access, items for which most downtown hotels make an additional charge. The three-story, non-smoking hotel offers happy-hour priced cocktails and complimentary hors d'oeuvres Monday through Thursday evenings in the lobby. Items included in the room rate are local telephone calls, a morning newspaper and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Area landmarks and attractions include three golf courses, The Galleria shopping mall, Houston Zoo, the NASA Space Center and horseracing at the Sam Houston Raceway Park. The hotel has one meeting room that can accommodate 18 guests and a 24-hour The Market offering a full range of snacks and beverages.

Those who have stayed here said it was hard to find anything to complain about. The accommodation was clean, the beds very comfortable, the rates reasonable, and the employees made that extra effort to insure a pleasant stay. Frequent visitors to Houston said staying here was less expensive that being downtown where you had to pay at least $20 a night for parking. There were some complaints from light sleepers that the property is close to busy roads and not too far from railroad tracks. Most clients, however, said they would stay at this property on future visits to Houston and had no hesitation in recommending the property to others. Read our customer reviews?

All the guestrooms have a well-lit work desk with high-speed Internet access, 32-inch flat screen television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, wet bar, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, pullout sofa bed, hairdryer and telephone with voicemail. Video games and players are available for rent.

This hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness center. Breakfast is the only meal served at The Courtyard Café. There are several restaurants nearby including Denny’s, Joe’s Crab Shack, an Olive Garden and a Steak and Ale.
