Customer Reviews for Hilton Galveston Island Resort

Worst! - posted on 05/29/2007

This hotel really makes me disappointed. It is far below Hilton standard. Room is weary. Hotel is noisy. A/c wakes you up all night. Elevator is old & slow and keep you waiting. Food in restaurant is lousy. The manager and staffs are unfriendly and mean. They treat the guests like wanderers. I have to wear hand bandage to stay in the hotel while they have no room to check me in after 3:00PM. For $30 a night at motel, I would have better experience than this hotel.

I love the Hilton this is the best hotel ever, we have stayed here 3 times and has always been clean!! The staff is super and the kids love that it is next to the Rainforest Cafe'. This is the place to stay

bad experience - posted on 03/11/2007

The room view was great but that's about it! The room did not have a dvd or vcr player, no microwave for the guests to use and no vending machines after the gift shop closes. The A/C was too loud for most of the night. The Restraunt's food was cold and not fresh as they say.

mediocre for the price - posted on 01/04/2007

Our room was on the first floor near the conference rooms and gift shop. The noise in the hallway was quite loud. Also, the AC/heater did not work properly. Other than that, the hotel lobby and facilities were attractive and the staff very polite.

Quick Trip - posted on 07/12/2006

The bell staff was very helpful, friendly and full of information about the area. The room just had one luggage rack, no other space to open a suitcase. I found that a curious ommission. Didn't use a lot of the facilities but other members of my group had a great time at the hotel.

The hotel was spotless and everyone from the maid staff to the front desk was very friendly. Comfortable beds! I wish they had been Queens instead of doubles.

I thought this was a Hilton? - posted on 07/06/2006

Our double bed room was unavailable due to some water damage, therfore, we had to take a single bed room. Most of the items (tv remote, desk phone, shabby shower head) in the room didn't work and I had to remind them to bring the blow up air matress that substitued for the other double bed. Note: the air matress was a single. We usually have a far better experience when we stay at a Hilton.

Kids first beach trip - posted on 06/09/2006

Highly recommend staying at the Galveston Hilton. Everything was clean and the valets were the most friendliest and helpful people I've met in a long time. They will take you anywhere in their shuttle and if you have kids the nightly Rain Forest Cafe volcano erupts right next door to the pool. Fishing pier within walking distance which will rent poles and sells bait.

Hilton experience - posted on 04/12/2006

I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton...however I did not feel like I was staying in a Hilton quality hotel. The beds and room decor was more something like you would find at a 2 or 3 star hotel. Also, the fact that the pool was advertised as being heated and was not was disappointing. The staff, however, was extremely courteous and helpful.

The Hilton Hotel - posted on 04/12/2006

The hotel room was great. It had a balcony, even though the view wasn't the best. (nor did we pay for the upgrade) The pool was beautiful, as was the hot tub. The sauna, which was a suprise, was enjoyable as well. I-Hop was a walking distance from the hotel, and the beach right across the street. The hotel personel were great too. I would stay there again in a heart beat!

Pleasant Surprise - posted on 06/05/2005

What a great experience. When we checked in and informed the bellman that we would only be staying one night because we were departing for a cruise the next morning, he told us about the service offered for parking by the hotel. They provide free parking at the hotel parking lot and provide free round trip transportation to the cruise terminal, even if you are not staying there on your return from the cruise. This saved us $80.00 in parking fees. The transportation was on time and immediate when we returned from the cruise. GREAT SERVICE.....

Moldy bathrooms - posted on 12/28/2004

My family stayed in Galveston for 4 nights and asked at least twice that something be done about the mildew in the bathtub. Finally the last day after the failure to fix the problem, we ran down the street to the grocery store and purchased a bottle of mildew remover......it worked!!! What a simple solution. Do you think head of housekeeping could have figured that one out? We were told that it was a moist enviroment at the coast and mildew was just part of being located on the beach. SURE----WHATEVER

Enjoyed Our Trip - posted on 09/21/2004

we were at the hilton/galveston 9/16 to 9/19 for our honeymoon. we were disappointed that the swim-up bar was closed but the bartender came out to the pool awnd cheerfully waited on us there. the room and hotel appearances in general were beautiful and well kept. it was very conveniently located for entertainment and dining and also for just sitting on the balcony and viewing the ocean and pool. we enjoyed our trip very much!
