Comfy beds! - posted on 04/20/2007
The Hyatt Regency Dallas was beautiful. The beds were super comfy! We tried over and over to go up Reunion Tower for the view of downtown Dallas, but it was closed each time, for four days straight. However, I would still highly recommend it based on comfort, cleanliness, and excellent service. The one bad thing if you are sharing a room with friends, as we did for a volleyball tournament, is the bathroom doors are not only see-through, but have a huge space between them!
a nice property - posted on 03/22/2007
Great hotel in a nice building with great views of downtown Dallas from the city side. Great bed - large and very comfortable. Resented paying the $10 for wireless internet as should be free and $5 for bottled water is a little steep. The TVs come out of the cupboard and you can watch in bed!

the scenery from our room was simply amazing, overlooking the beautiful architecture of downtown Dallas. not much to do in downtown Dallas as far as clubs or bars, and not much is in walking distance of the hotel, but if you want a nice, quiet, stay and lots of history of Dallas, this is a perfect place to stay, also if you'd like to visit Reunion Tower, its connected to the hotel, just an escalator ride away.
nickel and dime me! - posted on 11/09/2006
My major issue with the hotel was the ?nickel and dime? factor. Three weeks earlier I stayed at a "boutique hotel" across the street. It provided a complimentary breakfast, free wifi and shuttle van within 3 miles of the hotel. The hotel wasn?t as grandiose as the Hyatt but it was very charming and contemporary. I paid at least $70/per night more to stay at the Hyatt, which had NO FREE continental breakfast, NO FREE wifi, and NO FREE shuttle van. Lesson learned?boutique hotels are where I?m staying from now on. No more chain hotels for me.
Nice but noisy - posted on 10/11/2006
The hotel was beautiful and staff was very helpful. The only problem for me was that our particular room was overlooking a train yard across the street and you could hear the trains rumbling through and honking their horns early in the morning. I even brought a little fan to drown out the noise, but it didn't do the job. Try to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel, because friends of ours stayed in a different tower of the hotel and they had no noise problem.
ok place to stay - posted on 10/09/2006
Everything about my stay at the Regency Dallas was going ok until I saw a huge roach in the bathroom. I complained to the management who offered me free breakfast. She informed me that house keeping manager would be to my room in around 30 minutes. She never arrived in those 30 minutes. There was nothing in close proximity to the hotel. Downtown Dallas seemed to be deserted. I really like the lobby area. I don't plan on staying at the Dallas Regency ever again.

The place to stay if you're staying downtown! Be prepared for daily parking fees! $20/day... Upscale and romantic!!!
Huge disappointment - posted on 05/11/2006
Stayed 4 nights for a gov't conference. Room backed to an elevator shaft; the whole thing literally shook. Sounded like a jet every few minutes. Walls are paper thin. Even tho I checked in at 11am, staff said they couldn't switch my room because all rooms were preassigned. Switched the next day and new room overlooked very active train tracks (seven of them!). One restaurant at lunch for 2000+ attendees. Bathroom floor not swept for entire stay. Not convenient to anything. Gift shop horribly overpriced. Huge disappointment for a Hyatt.
Dallas was closed. - posted on 04/20/2006
The hotel was good, but the moment we set foot off the property we were accosted by beggars. This created an irritating parking situation. The valet parking was nice, but I would rather not hand my keys to any stranger especially in that neighborhood. Also, the whole city of Dallas closed for Easter. Dallas is not a great Easter vacation spot.
Extra charges - posted on 04/03/2006
You cannot judge the economics of the room rate due to the may extra charges for everything. The room services r was double what is the norm in most four star hotels.
Hotel Hyatt - posted on 12/20/2005
I needed to book at the last minute to attend a Texas State Championship football game in Dallas. I preferred to stay within walking distance to Dallas' Westend . The Hyatt was listed as a Good Buy for that weekend and is only 4 blocks from the Westend. Both exterior and interior facillities are impressive and the rooms are clean and adequate.

Great location, super nice guest services personnel, very clean room. We will definitely stay there when we go back to Dallas.
10/29 stay - posted on 11/04/2005
This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The room is VERY nice, the beds are extremely comfortable and the service is excellent. I definitely recommend this hotel. I'm just sorry my stay was only one night!
Nice Place - posted on 08/30/2005
Very nice hotel, beds were very comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive. Television channels were sparse, I'm sure in an effort to have you buy "movies on demand". The location is a plus, close to the freeway, the train, the west end.
The Most Spectacular Stay!!! - posted on 08/13/2005
My husband and I loved our weekend in Dallas at the Hyatt Regency. The service was excellent and the hotel was Beautiful. The view from every part of the hotel was awesome. This will be the only place that I would recommend anyone to stay in Dallas. I will definetly stay there again. Be sure and go see the Reunion Tower, it's terrific!! You are catered to your every need there at the hotel.

Completely wonderful - posted on 07/01/2005
I was at the Hyatt for a business trip/convention and we had a wonderful time. The staff is very helpful and courteous, they have plenty of local maps to help you navigate the city. The beds are to die for, soft as can be. The bar got a little loud at night (I could hear it inside my 9th floor room), but it wasn't unbearable. Wonderful room service, very prompt! Overall great.

Just with most Hyatt's the stay was great. Great hotel, good views and service. We will stay again.
