older hotel, great location - posted on 01/28/2007
it's obvious this is an older hotel that has undergone an extensive renovation. close to west end and the rapid transit still needs help. outside pool not much good in winter. no sauna or steamroom and you have to walk thru the lobby or meeting floor to get there if you are in the north tower. the chairs in the rooms are not made for comfort. the bed is OK but not as quality as many other better named hotels, but the pillows are feather and luxurious. if you can get a good price, the location makes this a good deal, but really, there's not much to do in dallas if you're a tourist.
The Fairmont is THE place to stay in Dallas - posted on 11/29/2006
Our stay was wonderful. The staff went all the way to make our stay there a pleasure. We went to the Thanksgiving Buffet and had some of the best food and service you could hope for. The only faults we could find was that the gratuity was manditory. The other thing is that unless you park around the back on a surface lot (which you still have to pay for) Valet is $19. We are already planning our next trip there.
Hot time in Dallas - posted on 05/26/2006
Despite weather in the 90's, we had a great time in Dallas while staying at the Fairmont. This hotel has a good central downtown location and also has a nice pool. The rooms, service and food were all excellent. Our trip was highlighted by a night at the Granada Theatre, one of the finest venues for live entertainment I have ever experienced. A great weekend.
Great Stay! - posted on 01/04/2006
This hotel was extremely nice and the rooms were wonderful. The beds were so soft and comfy which is hard to find! Other than having trouble finding a place to park, we loved our stay!
Nice but nothing is complimentary - posted on 11/20/2005
Location was great for us (but you never want to be in Dallas without a car), staff was friendly, room was very nice. Didn't expect the forced valet ($18/night plus tips) or $13.95/day for internet (no charge indicated on the website), or $5.91 for the bottled water in the room, and was a little disappointed that the out of theatre (non-adult) movies were still $9.99.
Fairmont Was Fair - posted on 01/17/2005
I thought that the Fairmont would be more grand, but the Dallas Fairmont was slightly less grand that other Fairmonth hotels I've visited. Although my room was small, it was very nicely appointed. Huge closet! Not really family friendly, but for my business travel was sufficient.
