The 70-room Austin Airport Hawthorn Suites is located one mile from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and within easy driving distance of downtown Austin, the Convention Center and the University of Texas. The three-storey property is ideally suited for long-stay business or leisure travelers and also reasonably priced for an overnight stop before or after a flight. There is a complementary airport shuttle. Other items included in the room rates are a manager’s reception on Monday through Thursday evenings which offers wine, beer, soft drinks and a light dinner; a hot breakfast buffet every morning; local telephone calls; high speed Internet access and a morning newspaper.

A much needed refurbishment is underway for this property. Those who have stayed here say they will return when the work is completed. And the reason: Good rates, friendly and helpful work force and large fully-equipped suites. Word of advice from former guests: The complementary shuttle does not come on a regular schedule. Hawthorn Suites Austin Airport Accommodations
The one bedroom suites come with a choice of one or two queen size beds. There are also larger king suites that have a Jacuzzi tub. All the accommodation has a separate living area with large study desk and queen size sleeper sofa. Other amenities include two televisions with movie channels, dual phone lines with voicemail and dataports, microwave oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a make-up mirror.

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, basket ball and tennis courts and there are hiking and bicycle trails nearby. There is a convenience store on site a well as business center, fitness facility and a guest laundry. The 24-hour front desk can arrange for car rentals and has safe deposit boxes. From Airport: Turn left out of the Airport onto Hwy 71. Proceed West up to the Riverside Drive intersection. Turn left onto Riverside Drive and the hotel is a few yards on the left hand side. From Downtown: Take I-35. Take Exit 233, the Riverside Drive exit. Proceed East onto Riverside Drive and continue up to the intersection of Riverside Drive and Ben White Boulevard. Continue across the intersection on Riverside Drive and look for the entrance to the Hotel on the left side.
