The 293-room Crown Plaza North is only minutes from downtown Austin and the Texas State Capitol and provides top quality accommodation equally suited to the upmarket business and leisure traveler. Items included with the room rate at this seven-story hotel are high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, a morning newspaper, in-room coffee and parking. There are 15 meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 1,000 guests. Corporate offices close to the property include Dell, Applied Materials, Samsung, Intel and Siemens. Area landmarks and attractions include the University of Texas, the 6th Street entertainment district, Lake Travis, the Austin Convention Center, the State History Museum, the Lyndon Johnson Presidential Library and Royal Memorial Stadium.

It maybe a little more expensive to stay at this Crowne Plaza but those who did said it was worth the extra money. The service here was top notch and the rooms have all been renovated to a high standard. Those who paid even more for a room on the executive floors said those extra dollars were well spent to enjoy the benefits of the executive lounge which served breakfast in the morning and wine and beer during the day. The location is good, close of the expressway, which means easy access to the city’s corporate centers and major attractions. All the rooms and 10 suites have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, CD player, two dual-line telephones with voicemail and speakerphone, refrigerator, coffeemaker, iron and ironing board and a hairdryer. Connecting rooms are available.

The on-site Crossroads Grill is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and room service is available from 6am until 11pm. The Crossroads Lounge has flat screen televisions, a fully stocked bar and serves food until 1am. There is an outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and a fitness center. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a business center, gift shop, an ATM, daily housekeeping, laundry pick up and same-day dry cleaning service and ice and vending machines.
