I was glad I chose the Omni Southpark
Weekend Getaway - posted on 04/10/2007
We arrived after 10 P.M. and the night staff was rude, incompetent, and uncaring. The shower lacked water pressure. Our room service food arrived cold. We tried to contact the front desk for a cab and no one answered. We had to go downstairs and call a cab ourselves. If not for the amazing service we received the following morning, we would have changed hotels. Multiple members of the day staff actually thanked us for staying at their hotel.

The Hotle can be a bit hard to find. You will have to drive to site seeing locations in Austin but it isn't loud like a lot of the downtoen hotels. The King bed was fantastic, followed closely by the pool, workout room and pool area.
Nice Visit - posted on 03/01/2007
Property was very nice and clean. Rooms were spacious and the indoor/outdoor pool was huge. Bed was tluxuriously soft and noise from the freeway made it hard to sleep.
middle of nowhere - posted on 09/20/2006
this hotel is average at best and is located in the middle of nowhere and walking distance from nothing.
Wonderful Stay - posted on 08/21/2006
2 adults in king bedroom. No noise (but, we were at END of hall). Bed was soooo soft: down comforter and many many pillows. Bathroom clean and wonderful. Pool was AWESOME - immaculate w/fresh towels everywhere.

Despite having a later checkin time they were able to accomodate and find a room earlier than expected. Room was very clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Sometimes you could hear people in the next room when you were in the bathroom and the air conditioning was a little noisy. Otherwise, I highly recommend staying here and will do so myself next time I'm in Austin.

I have stayed here before, and always found the hotel to be very clean, convenient, with friendly staff. I will stay here again.
Wonderful Stay For Families - posted on 07/16/2006
I took my family to Austin, and my children absolutely loved this hotel. The swimming pool was virtually spotless and crystal clear...not even a leaf in the pool. The exercise room is one of the finest I have seen in a hotel. The staff was friendly and cordial...they even laid towels on the elevator floor when my children left the pool to go to our room! Our room was impeccably clean...nice white comforters, sheets and pillows. We will be back!
Noisy Road Traffic - posted on 07/07/2006
Very noisy from major traffic highways if on that side of building. Got very little sleep even though the room and service was nice.
Expected more - posted on 06/22/2006
The bed was comfortable however I was disappointed in many other factors. They only provided one extra pillow in the closet (3 total) and we were not provided a privacy door tag. I tried asking housekeeping for one and they didn't understand me. The room service was good but the entire hotel smelled damp. My biggest complaint is there were several ants in the pool floating around and no one came out to clean it. Also they did not have internet access in the lobby.
No Place To Sleep - posted on 05/18/2006
When I stayed at the hotel they were having a talent show/beauty pagent and the hotel allowed hundreds of 13-15 year old girls to run the halls screaming all night for four nights. It was difficult to sleep. Also when people close their doors it is very loud for surrounding rooms. This is not a place to go to sleep in but the staff is very accommodating.
NOT a 4-Star hotel - posted on 05/17/2006
An Irish dancing convention took place in the entire downstairs during my weekend stay - very disruptive. Room was average, older hotel, restaurant seemed like a Shoney's (run-of-the-mill - nothing special). I was disappointed since I expected the AAA 4-diamond rating to mean that it was above average, or even elegant, which it wasn't. Housekeeping did a nice job, though.

They met us outside to help with luggage and Christmas gifts. Pool is so cool, swim under the bridge and into the pool house.
Austin's Omni Southpark - posted on 07/20/2005
Very friendly staff and quick check-in. Stayed on 11th floor with great views of downtown Austin. Kids received toy bags upon arrival which kept them quiet in the room. Clean rooms and efficient room service. Definitely recommend this hotel!

The rooms are below Omni standards, needs serious updating. Had stains on the carpet.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. It was consitently clean and the employees where very friendly. The view is really not that great but the location is great if you want to be able to go out and not fight traffic getting back and forth to your hotel

We didn't take full advantage of all your nice ammenities at the hotel, we were in town for a wedding with our baby. But you gave us a nice crib for her to sleep in, room service was excellent and the prices were certainly reasonable. We also liked the pool.
