Awesome Texas Trip! - posted on 03/30/2007
The Hyatt Austin is a terrific hotel right on the banks of the Town Lake. Best of all, is the staff. They take care of your every need. From the restaurant to the Front Desk folks to the Concierge. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone!

Newly remodeled, nice finish out in lobby and rooms, except for the shower tiles. ( I guess they cut costs on the remodel by not updating the shower tiles. Not a huge deal, but disappointing for a Hyatt.) Overall, the hotel was nice and the stay was pleasant. My one complaint is that the bathroom was not clean when I checked in, but this was taken care of quickly by the housekeeping staff.
Love Austin and the Hyatt - posted on 09/10/2006
My daughter and I spent a week at the Hyatt this summer. While I attended class at UT, she enjoyed the pool, health club and hiking trail. The staff are friendly and helpful, the newly remodeled rooms are beautiful and the food is great. We are looking forward to visiting the Hyatt again in December.

My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt while my son attended orientation at UT. Our stay was very comfortable. We will definitely stay again in a couple of weeks when we officially move our son into his dorm at UT.

The renovated rooms are really nice and the bed was so very comfortable. The location was great as well. We loved the lake view from our room.

Really clean, comfortable and close to everything. Can walk to several attractions and the hotel has tours, bike rentals, and other things to do from there.
Great Stay - posted on 12/21/2005
The Hyatt in Austin has always been our favorite place to stay while in Austin. It has a wonderful bar with free snacks, wonderful drinks and service, a marvelous view and loads of huge TV's. I especially liked that they now have coffee makers in each room.
Excellent Staff and Location - posted on 09/30/2005
We booked the Hyatt for a stay while we moved our daughter into the University of Texas. Everything was wonderful. The rooms are tired and in need of updating. I was told by the front desk their renovation is to begin in Jan/06. This hotel will definitely then fill the 4 star ranking.

I loved the location. The hotel is right on the water and our kids loved taking the paddle boats on the river among the swans. The concierge arranged for a nanny one evening for our children so my husband and I could have some adult time. The staff was very helpful.
I won't be back - posted on 06/23/2005
We've stayed at Hyatt Regency Austin twice this year. On both occasions we booked rooms with a king-size bed. When we arrived, we were told that no rooms at the rate we booked were available with king-size beds. They did, however, have "river-view rooms" with king-size beds, for $25 additional. Acoustic separation between rooms is horrible. On both occasions we listened to our neighbors half the night. Otherwise, food is good and the view of the city across Town Lake is very nice.

Very disappointing for a Hyatt. Lousy beds, moldy shower, tv/cable didn't work, no vending machines for late night snacks.Staff was very helpful

The lobby was very peaceful - a stream running through was most unique. Our room was average, however, the view of the Colorado River and the city was fabulous. The service was extremely efficient and sincerely friendly. We were given a call after @ 30 minutes in our room to assure that we had everything we needed - a wonderful special touch. The location is super - within walking distance of most of the nightlife and directly on top of the running path around the "lake" for those who would like to burn off all of those calories consumed during vacation!!
DISAPPOINTED! NOT 4STAR QUALITY - posted on 11/16/2004
Hotel is NOT 4STAR quality! My room was in desperate need of updating! Carpets old/stained, bedspread yukky, furnishings very low grade. After a few hours of being disgusted, I just checked out and went to a REAL 4Star hotel and had a fantastic stay! Who rates these hotels anyway? I'd give this one a 2star!
