This hotel is an unmitigated disaster. To say the rooms are dilapidated would be giving it a compliment. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls, no ice machines worked, the baths are filthy, and the management is rude and unprofessional. One hour was the most we could stand there (renting 3 rooms mind you). Disgusting and absurd, this place should be condemned. Or charge hourly to vagrants. Worst hotel I have seen in many years.

This was a disaster! Bars in the hotel have live bands that played till 2 am making it impossible to sleep. A/C did nothing more than circulate the air that was already in the room. The bed was so hard, I would have slept on the floor if it wasn't so dirty.

We stayed here with a convention. Many people had to ask for different rooms because of mold, mice, bugs, lack of electricity, etc. This place needs to be upgraded or closed. We were to have stayed three nights but found another hotel after the first (every hotel in the area was booked the first night). I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. High speed wireless internet was a joke! The only bright spot was the helpful desk attendant when we checked in.

very unhappy - posted on 08/02/2005
we stayed here and the bathroom had mold. The swimming pool was green and the cook would not serve us breakfast because he was out of food. The towel rack fell off the wall.I felt the cook was very rude. The breakfast was included in the price and we were very unhappy we could not eat there. We had to go elsewhere and that was not right but the food was good. The ceilings look like they need work and especially above the swimming pool!!!
Grand Old Hotel on its Last Leg - posted on 05/09/2005
Throughout the years it changed ownership and franchises several times. The hotel sat vacant for several years until someone decided to reopen it under the name Ritz Plaza. The problem is they picked it up for pennies on the dollar and they didn't rennovate it to its former glory. The roof leaked, the rooms were dingy . . .
