The Marriott is a wonderful luxurious hotel. They made our stay so wonderful that your party of six (3 rooms) had to discuss whether we wanted to leave to sight see or stay in the wonderful rooms.

Honest and hard working staff.

The Trolley Line was right outside the door and went to most of the places we wanted to go. The bar overcharged us and they didn't know how to give us a credit on our credit card and we had to purchase another drink in order to get our overpayment.

Friendly personnel, convenient to attractions, trolley line outside the hotel.

Bad odor (came from outside), bar was very expensive and not well staffed.

The hotel is nice, but the area surrounding it is not. It is in a rundown, empty, dirty part of town.

Convenient to trolley, downtown, and interstate.

Parking, internet, and breakfast are not free.

The 600-room Marriott Memphis Downtown is the largest hotel in Memphis and provides luxury accommodation equally suited to the upmarket business and leisure traveler. The 19-story, non-smoking hotel has 47 rooms available for business or social events. The largest, the Heritage Ballroom can accommodate 10,500 guests. The property is on the Memphis Trolley line, and close to shopping, museums and the entertainment and nightlife of Beale Street. Other landmarks and attraction include the National Civil Rights Museum, the Brooks Museum of Art, AutoZone Park and the FedEx Forum. The full-service hotel is connected to the 300,000 square foot Memphis-Cook Convention Center and the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts.

Barack Obama stayed here when he was president-elect. It is difficult to get a better recommendation than that. Other guests say the food here is top quality and reasonably priced. Many guests say they will use this hotel on future visits to Memphis. Some of them might even get to sleep on the bed that Obama slept it.
