We found this hotel to have rooms that were neat and clean-We had a room overlooking the pool so was quiet--Friends had room near R.R. tracks that we found to be noisey especially at night(many trains)-We would stay here again when we return to Memphis--

Location worked well for us as our desk staff were ready with direction cards for all the major sites, so getting downtown was an easy shot armed with step by step how-tos. Nicely appointed quiet room with free internet, Central business center in lobby was nice for easy trip planning. Neighborhood was good for restaurants and shopping center within 2 block radius or head for the downtown Beale St. fun. Staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast in lobby will run 10 bucks easy, but is a value given selection and fresh omelet options.

Convenient location for many out of town guests. Everything appeared to be recently removated. The room was clean and well decorated. Slightly dissapointed that the hot tub area was still being worked on. It appeared that they were less than a week from competion though. Be aware that the hotel is beside a hospital and train tracks. Our room was away from both and very quite. Get a room with a view of the pool/courtyard if you can and you should not be disappointed. Breakfast buffet was also very satisfying. More choices than one would expect, so no one goes away hungry.

I love Marriotts and stay at them frequently. I will continue stays during both business and pleasure. But I will pass along information to friendly travelers about this particular Germantown Marriott. Be forewarned. Large freight trains, less than 100 yards from your room, will roar past the hotel at least once every two hours. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, accommoadting staff, but no sleep for this couple. I would not recommend this hotel, and wished I had this knowledge before making reservations.
