The 98 all-suites TownePlace Suites by Marriott Knoxville Cedar Bluff is rated as one of the better places to stay in Knoxville and provides extended stay accommodation at affordable rates for both the family traveler and the businessman. The four-story, pet-friendly hotel is close to the University of Tennessee, Museum of Appalachia and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. There is a choice of three different floor plans each with separate living, work and sleep areas. Items included in the room rare at this non-smoking property are high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Area attractions and landmarks include two golf courses, the Great Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, Dollywood, West Town Shopping Mall and the Knoxville Convention Center.

This Marriott property gets top marks from those who have stayed here. Former visitors say the rates are very reasonable, the accommodation spacious and comfortable, and the employees were very helpful and friendly. Those who brought the family pet said the one-time charge of $100 was high but if you were staying here for a week or more, it was only a few dollars a day, far less than leaving the pet pooch in kennels. Towneplace Suites Knoxville West Accommodations

All the suites have separate living and sleeping areas and a work desk with high-speed Internet access. The kitchens come with a refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, conventional and microwave oven, coffeemaker, toaster and cutlery and crockery. Other amenities include cable television with movie channels, pullout sofa bed, telephone with voicemail and data ports, hairdryer, alarm clock and an iron and ironing board.

The hotel has an outdoor seasonal swimming pool and an exercise room. There is no restaurant on-site but several nearby including Applebees, Baker Peters Jazz Club, Outback Steakhouse and Parkside Tavern. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes, a list of restaurants that will deliver to the hotel, and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a coin-operated laundry, a fax and copying machine for guest use, and a picnic area with barbecue grill.

From Knoxville Airport (TYS) 15 miles: Travel North on HWY 129 for one mile. Follow signs to Knoxville. Exit onto HWY 140 West following signs to Oakridge. Take Exit #1 (Kingston Pike). At the light, cross over Kingston Pike onto Mabryhood Rd. At the stop sign, turn right onto Parkside Drive. The TownePlace will be on your left approximately 1.5 miles down.
