Spanning across 650 acres, this plantation once belonged to President Andrew Jackson. Belle Meade is another great example of past architecture and includes a log cabin that dates back to 1790. Interested in a bit of history? The Mabry-Hazen House Museum and Civil War Bethel Cemetery served as the headquarters for both Union and Confederate troops. At the location where Martin Luther King was assassinated stands the National Civil Rights Museum. Inside you’ll find amazing displays and information on America’s fight for equality.

Tennessee has made a lasting impression on the music industry. You may not have enjoyed music class during high school but you’ll love learning its history here. How can you not with the legendary Grand Ole Opry, the Memphis Music Hall of Fame and Sun Studios calling Tennessee home? Perhaps you need a bit more convincing. Tennessee is also home to Graceland and the Elvis Museum.
