Customer Reviews for Hampton Inn Charleston Airport

Good Value - posted on 04/23/2007

This was a last minute booking. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean. This is an older hotel but in good condition. It is close to the airport so some airplane noise was very loud, but overall this is a good hotel and considering the area prices, it was a good value too. Just a short drive to area sites.

Tiny rooms, old and stale, no closet - posted on 04/14/2007

The room was tiny and had no closet. We stayed in a non-smoking room. The room we had smelled like it had been a smoking room at one time, smelling like stale cigarettes. The A/C was making horribly loud sounds, not a pleasant experience when you are exhausted and it's late at night. One positive thing was that the maintanace guy was very kind and understanding and did replace the unit. This did make our night a late one though. The next day when the lady at the front desk asked about our stay and we told her, she did not seem to care at all. We were not trying to get anything free either.

No Lobby/Guest Office/Refrigerator - posted on 08/07/2006

While the website stated free web access in the lobby it really meant but didn't state bring your own computer. No office equipment at all for the traveler. No refrigerator in the rooms. 100 + temps while I was there and no frig to keep even water cold. Even discount hotels offer fridges. Ample Breakfast bar and proximity to 1-26 and 526 a big +

good location, old hotel - posted on 04/26/2006

I selected this hotel because I wanted something close to Charleston without the high price. This hotel was less than 10 minutes away from historic Charleston, which was good. However, the place needs some renovation. The beds were good, but the bathroom had seen better days. My curling iron wouldn't even fit in the outlet because it was so loose on the wall it wouldn't make the connection. The definitley need to upgrade these rooms. It was also very tiny. No closet, only a wardrobe with a small amount of room.

This was our first trip to Charleston and we had a wonderful time. I was very worried about finding a nice, affordable hotel room but Hampton Inn put my mind to rest. I would stay here again!!!!

Good val for area, but small quarters. - posted on 03/03/2006

The service of all the staff was excellent. The rooms are smaller overall than other locations where we have stayed. They are in need of general refurbishing too.

favorable experience - posted on 02/20/2006

read a prior review that said the hallways and public areas were dirty. Took a chance and found that they were kept clean. Rooms and baths were clean, beds were comfortable, service was good. Breakfast bar had many choices. Dining area was dirty but sel-serve diners didn't clean up after themselves. Would be nice if they had a fitness center as their affiliated gym was a hike. Not much choice for restaurants near there.Had to drive a few miles. But the lower price offset theose minor inconveniences. Would stay again

Dumpy hotel - posted on 06/15/2005

This hotel showed a three star rating & we like Hampton Inns, but this one was substandard. Serious safety issues- couldn't exit exterior doors. Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke. Hallways & lobby old, run down, and very hot with no A/C. Not at all up to Hampton Inn standards & definitely NOT a three-star hotel... more like a one star.

HAMPTON INN STAY - posted on 10/08/2004

HOTEL IS ECONOMICALLY PRICED, CLEAN AND CLOSE TO THE INTERSTATE. THE BREAKFAST TO START THE DAY MAKES IT A GREAT STAY.

Airport Hotel - posted on 09/23/2004

Great place to stay when using Charleston airport. We parked at the hotel and used their shuttle to the airport. Shuttle picked us up on our return and brought us back to our car. Great service. Facilities were clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay there again.
