Customer Reviews for Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort

WONDERFUL - posted on 11/21/2005

My 2 daughters and I were there and we LOVED it! Our 9th floor suite was awesome! The room was beautiful and the view spectacular! Although the lazy river in our building(Pinnacle) was closed because of the renovation we didn't miss it-there were so many other things! True, there were scaffolding and things but they HAD warned us that renovations were taking place, so we weren't surprised. Parking can be a problem-but not too bad. We will definitely be back again!

Average At Best - posted on 05/14/2007

No early check in . They start your stay off by making you wait to check-in. Room's are average. Not enough staff for the size of complex.

Would return - posted on 04/05/2007

We were there for 6 days and had a wonderful time. This is a very clean and economical hotel to stay in and the room service is awesome. Our grandchildren loved swimming in the pools and their first sight of the ocean was worth the whole trip. Thanks Compass Cove for making this the best spring break ever.

Very Nice - posted on 02/26/2007

I arrived late Friday night. The man at the front desk was helpful with telling us were to go to see diffrent sites. They were doing construction when I was there and it was not too cute on my level. I was on the 2nd floor so when i went on the balcony i saw the top of the pool room, asked to be up higher but no available rooms. Over all had a good time. Housekeeping came TOO early in the AM and kept coming until I got up.

4th year visitor - posted on 10/09/2006

This was our 4th year in a row bringing out grandson with us to the resort. He loves it! We love it! For 2 years now, we seen constant renovations - hope they'll be finished soon. Next visit 11/06.

We Hated It! - posted on 08/24/2006

We arrived late in the evening .The room stank of cigarettes. We spoke to the Night Manager about the smell and requested a room change. We told him 2 of our children have asthma. He was rude and unconcerned. He told us we could have a room deodorizer sprayed (to mask the smell) or have an air ionizer put in the room overnight and have a smaller room. With 3 children we took the smaller room.

3rd time not charmed - posted on 07/29/2006

3rd visit, but last. Good price but small rooms, dirty kitchen, dusty furniture, leaky fridge, icemaker on our floor did't work. Blankets on beds DISGUSTING! Wont be back!

Family Vacation - posted on 07/27/2006

We started our vacation in the Schoner building. The view was excellent. The maid service was curteous and very helpful. We extended our stay and had to move to the Pinnacle building, the staff moved our belongings while we continued our vacation. The 2nd room was not as nice as the 1st.The children enjoyed the different pools and the convience of being on the beach. The only complaint I truly have was the garage. The directions was awful. I do recommend this resort for kids and for families.

EXCELLENT TIME - posted on 07/24/2006

CLEAN ROOMS, COURTEOUS STAFF. THE ONLY PROBLEM I SAW WERE A FEW OF THE HOT TUBS THAT NEEDED A LITTLE MORE ATTENTION. OTHER THAN THAT, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESORT (ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN).

I was ripped off!! - posted on 06/25/2006

Confirmed a certain price per night. Upon checkout the hotel charged me more per night. Spoke w/manager on duty and she rudely told me that she could do nothing/that I needed to contact ***. She would not let me use a hotel phone to call. Unfriendly staff/ the room was in poor condition, leaking refrig, stopped up bathroom sink, leaking kitchen faucet/a cabinet door fell off in the kitchen projecting small staples. We stayed 2 nights and no maid service the entire time. Biggest concern was price change from my confirmed booking price.

great for the money - posted on 06/14/2006

We spent a long weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The pools (especially the kiddie pools) were nice and kept us entertained. Our room was very clean. It's not THE nicest resort on the beach but it's a very good hotel for the price. The only thing I was aggravated with was the lack of parking , but we were there the week everyone got out of school so the summer crowd was in full swing. For an inexpensive, oceanfront room it was a great deal for the money.

no bikers - posted on 04/10/2006

The only real problem we have ever had coming here is during bikers week. the Hotel was totally a mess the rooms were way behind being ready for customers because of the damage from the bikers (not your fault). Other then that and the wait for our room we love it here. My only comment would be to give returning guess more of insentives to come back again like better discounts.

Unhappy - posted on 01/23/2006

I did not enjoy our stay and will not return to your facility. The room itself was fine but the rest of the place did not live up to its' advertisement. We were very disappointed. We should have been told it was under remodeling. It was noisy from the construction, the pools were not all open, the hot tubs were only partially filled with water. We had a hard time finding our way around and were not given anything to help. We were given the wrong code twice for the exercise room once we finally found it. The lazy river was tiny and packed so the kids couldn't get in and you advertise more than one. The list goes on. Overall it was unsatisfactory and while we are planning another trip down there in February I will not pay to stay there again.

AWFUL!!!!!!!!! - posted on 12/12/2005

Desk staff rude & didn't answer questions. Renovations going on very early in the morning. Tar truck parked outside of our room - the smell would choke you. Room NOT as pictured. Wrote to the management and they did not even have the courtesy to reply. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone for any reason.

Under renovation... - posted on 10/05/2005

The room was clean although the furnishings were dated and worn. We were in the Pinnacle building which is being renovated. Towels are small and thin, remote didn't work and request for new batteries ignored. Parking garage was almost always filled and crossing the street form the overflow lot is dangerous so let the family out first and then park. Will be great when construction is done...

Disappointed - posted on 08/23/2005

Renovation work was going on, job site was filthy, scaffolding and tarp all over the place, paint peeling off in elevator, no elevator locator on each floor, room has mildewy smell, bed was hard, bathrooms small, parking was horrible, pools were dirty. They need to fire their general contractor. I may return if I can't find a reasonably priced, better hotel to stay in.

Nice Suprise! - posted on 08/17/2005

We stayed unexpectedly at this hotel after having a bad experience at another hotel. The room was very nice and what started out as a not so good experience turned into a really good one. No major complaints. We will definitely stay again.

outdated - posted on 07/17/2005

Outdated hotel, elevators are very slow if they work an no a/c in them, tv only 9 inch., old furniture, creeky beds, parking terrible, have to park across street and walk, pools are nice have to get their early to get a chair. No towels at the pool, so bring your own. The ocean is lovely, and our view from our room was great. No phone or bathrooms outside of your room and in hotel lobby. Should have more places to eat and things for teens to do. Renovations are being done so they closed down the pools in the pinnacle section..

RECENT VACATION - posted on 06/07/2005

My wife and I recently visited MB, and stayed at Compass Cove. The location of this hotel is great for families or couples who are looking for a quiet place to stay. We came during Grad Week, and were so happy to find this hotel at the end of the strip. It is away from all the loud activity of kids cruising, but still on the main strip. The rooms were great, extremely spacious, and everything we needed was at our fingertips. The oceanfront view was amazing, and the ammenities were everything promised. The only complaint was horrible parking and tiny tiny beds. But otherwise, we will be back!!

Rotten Place to stay - posted on 04/24/2005

The hotel is old and out dated. The room we booked was not the room we recieved. Not one of my better vacations. The hotel is also not very clean nor are the pools.
