Customer Reviews for Springmaid Beach Resort

Great stay - posted on 01/20/2006

Our vacation was great. The rooms were very clean, we loved the Springmaid pier. The beach was very clean, and never crowded. Our children loved to vacation at Springmaid. Would recommend it to others with families, or just a couple wanting to get away for a few days.

Nice Surprise - posted on 05/28/2007

This hotel was a nice surprise. We have stayed in more expensive hotels along the Strand that were not as nice. The room has recently been updated and was clean. We had a great view of the ocean and the pier. While staying on the property we got an armband to walk on the pier for free. My son loved watching people bring in large fish and seeing the stingrays from the pier. The hotel is located at the end of the Strand, which makes for less crowds and less traffic. The staff, from the front desk to housekeeping, was extremely accomodating. We would definitely go back.

Spring Fling - posted on 04/13/2007

In searching for a hotel for Spring break vacation, Springmaid Beach Resort had everything I was looking for: indoor pool, beachfront, balcony, and close to area attractions. I was afraid I had made a bad choice after reading the reviews, but my family and I had a fantastic stay. We're already planning our next stay!!!!!!

Just close your eyes from the street to the room - posted on 10/25/2006

The conference rooms were awful, a friend found a roach in her salad, there were roaches crawling along the ceiling, it's VERY confusing from the conference center to the hotel side, and the elevators are SLOW!!!!!

Would come back - posted on 08/21/2006

Hotel is nicely situated at the end of the beach which gives it a feel of a true resort. The beach is nice and less crowded- yet everything is just a short drive away-not much within walking distance, but the privacy is worth it. The Hotel and pools were in good shpe, as well as the rooms- however the furniture had some damage to the drawer. A/C worked good, Breakfast Buffet was good too.The Staff was outstanding and pleasant. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back here again.

still great after all these years - posted on 08/01/2006

I have been vacationing at Springmaid since I was a little girl and now I enjoy bringing my kids. I love the privacy of the beach and the pier. The recent renovation of the rooms made a major improvement. The onsite putt putt and game room for the kids was perfect. We never left!!

Spring maid need help! - posted on 07/31/2006

I have stayed here for 30 years and this year was most dissapointing. The rooms were in need of repair, leaky toilet. Could not use the safe due to being broke. We put in 2 calls to maintence and they never showed up. We called for clean sheets one night only to have them tossed in the door at us. . I will be back for the christmas craft show with higher expectations. This show is a womans paradise.Spring Maid has been a life long family vacation spot for my whole family I hope to see it in better shape next year because we have never seen things like we did this year.

Nice place overall, but.... - posted on 10/07/2005

Nice place in general. The room in the Live Oak building seemed in need of repair: paint, cleaning, broken/leaking refrigerator. Bathroom was very tiny for a 2-bedroom efficiency.

Not Exactly What We Expected - posted on 08/17/2005

The room we were given was in the main building. The carpet was old and stained. The fixtures and appliances were old and needed to be replaced. The furniture and bed comforters were worn as well. We willing lost our deposit and went to another hotel. Needless to say we do not plan on visiting the Springmaid Hotel ever again.

Our Engagement - posted on 08/11/2005

My fiance loves the beach so I picked here to ask her to marry me. The rooms where nice. The resort was nice. The only thing I think could improve is to have an upscale reasturant on the resort grounds. Granted there are a number of nice reasturants nearby, I am the type who likes to not have to leave once there. The staff was wonderful by the way.

Never again - posted on 08/05/2005

We had to check out early due to a close family member taken to hospital near death and they would not refund the two nights we were unable to be there. They have no compassion.

Air conditioner was broken and upon calling main desk, someone was immediately there to repair. Bathroom was filthy. Room service and other personnel were very friendly.

Quiet Private Beach w/ Low Priced Ocean View Rooms - posted on 07/22/2005

I've stayed a Springmaid as long as I can remember and now that's where I take my family. Friendly staff, nice rooms, pier (can fish and rent rods), plenty of pools, brand new mini-golf, cafeteria, burgers on pier. Can walk to Daemons, Par 3, and State Park. Has a huge conference building. Very nice rooms for the money. Has full size refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, hair dryer. Plenty of parking w/ 2 parking decks. It's quiet for a reason...mostly families, seniors, and business groups. Has 24 hr maintenance and security. Can get to most places of interest in 5 to 10 minutes!

A weekend to remember! - posted on 06/28/2005

Everything was just how I had pictured it in my mind, wonderful! We had a beautiful view of the ocean, a nice clean room, and very friendly service. We enjoyed walking on the pier and the playing in the well maintained pools. Check in was done in timely manner and I would reccommend this resort to anyone.
