Area landmarks and attractions include the Florence Civic Center, the Darlington International Speedway, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, War Between the States Museum, Young's Pecan Plantation, Mister Mark's Fun Park, Freedom Florence Sports, Florence Phantoms Indoor Football and shopping at the Magnolia Mall.

This was a Holiday Inn and it received good reviews then and they continue under its new branding. This is one of the few full-service hotels in the area and its reasonable prices attract both the business and leisure traveler. The cheerful crew of employees gets praise for being helpful and efficient and having heaps of helpful hints to make newcomers to town feel at home. The rooms are spotlessly clean and those who dined at the on-site restaurant said the quality was high and the prices low.
