I was traveling with my 7 year old son and 75 year old mother and we all had to sleep in the same bed. I went to the front desk after seeing that the room only had one bed and the lady at the front desk informed me that there were no rooms available with 2 beds. This was not a comfortable stay!

The room was damp and extremely small.

The 134-room Fairfield Inn by Marriott Florence caters to the budget-minded business and leisure traveler. The three-story, non-smoking hotel is minutes away from the Darlington NASCAR Raceway, the Florence Civic Center and within walking distance of shopping at the Magnolia Mall. Items included in the room rate are an expanded continental breakfast, including the Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwich, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and a morning newspaper. The property is 10 miles from the Crossings Golf Club and seven miles from the Florence Regional Airport. There is a jogging and fitness trail two miles away and it is a short drive to the Darlington International Dragstrip.

Now that this Fairfield Inn has been renovated the complaints about the property looking a little tired and jaded have stopped. Now customers say they will continue to use this hotel on future visits to Florence. Attracting them back are the very reasonable rates, a crew of happy and efficient employees and the outdoor heated swimming pool. Word of advice from earlier clients: It is worth paying a little more for the executive rooms which have microwave ovens and small refrigerators.
