The 137-room Courtyard by Marriott Columbia Northwest is a contemporary residential-style hotel situated near the Saluda River providing quality accommodation and facilities for both the leisure and business traveler. The three-story, non-smoking property is located in the heart of South Carolina’s capital city and within a 10-minute drive of Columbia's wide array of business and leisure destinations. Items included with the room rate are high-speed Internet access, parking, local telephone calls and a morning newspaper. The hotel has two meeting rooms for social or business functions. Nearby landmarks include the University of South Carolina, the South Carolina State House, the Koger Center for the Arts, the Colonial Center, Columbia Convention Center, State Museum and the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

This Courtyard has had a major facelift and earlier complaints about shabby accommodation have stopped. Now guests say it is a wonderful place to stay, with an actual courtyard to sit in. Several guests appreciated the coffee available 24/7 in the lobby. It was very welcome after a shopping spree in the Walmart store across the highway. All the guestrooms, and 12 suites, have a work desk with ergonomic chair and high-speed Internet access, cable television with movie channels, pay-per-view movies, alarm clock, pull-out sofa bed, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, coffee and tea making facilities, two-line telephone with voicemail and speakerphone. VCR players and movies are available for rent.

The hotel has an outdoor heated swimming pool and an exercise room. The hotel’s Courtyard Café only serves breakfast but there are several restaurants nearby including Ruby Tuesday, El Chico and the Texas Road House. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes, a list of restaurants that will deliver to the hotel and information on area attractions and events. Other amenities include a business center, vending machines, and a coin-operated laundry.

From Columbia Airport (CAE) 9 miles: Turn left onto Airport Boulevard (Hwy 302). Continue for 3/4 mile and turn left onto I-26 heading west towards Spartanburg. As Exit 108 approaches, stay in the lane marked for Bush River Road (the far right lane exits to downtown Columbia). At the end of exit, turn left onto Bush River Road. Cross over the interstate and continue through the next stoplight. Turn right onto Zimalcrest Drive, the first road on the right. The hotel is 100 yards ahead on the left.
