Although this four floor hotel is seven miles from downtown on the west side of the Ashley River, it’s in an area not congested and offers a good value for older travelers, girlfriend getaways, families and anyone traveling on a budget. It has a number of good features including free parking and easy access to beaches, historic plantations, shopping and other attractions. It’s also a good hotel for business meetings, family reunions or groups visiting the area. The hotel chain has a good reputation for satisfactory accommodations, amenities and professional staff.

This is a nice and fairly modern hotel that offers a good value for travelers who want reasonable driving distance to downtown Charleston, beaches, shopping, baseball and area attractions at a low price. With a nice indoor swimming pool, comfortable rooms and complimentary hot breakfast that includes eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt and juice, this is a good place for a short visit. Hawthorn Suites Charleston Accommodations

Rooms are roomy and comfortable (mid grade suites) with soft beds and nice linen. Many rooms offer a separate living room and bedroom and include cable TV, built-in DVD & VHS players, complimentary Internet access, free local calls, coffee maker and safe deposit box. Bathrooms have Caswell-Massey soaps and shampoos and lots of towels. Front desk staff is friendly and professional.
